And oh man, I've been making a name for myself on the internet since I was like 12, lol...;; I still cringe over the Invader Zim fanfiction I wrote when I think back on it, but thankfully it's long gone, since it was posted on the old official early-2000's Nickelodeon message boards. XD I never bullied anyone or anything, but I was super big on the whole LOL RANDUM CHEESE MONKEY type humor that was popular at the time... Hoo boy, there's a reason I haven't gone back to read my early dA posts in a while. Still, I haven't deleted it either. Idk, it mainly just feels kinda weird to me to erase my history like that. I was a silly kid, and just about everyone goes through a phase like that at some point, so I really don't see any point in pretending I didn't.

Don't worry to much. It's really not about people digging up embarrassing things about you, but about your attitude towards your old stuff. I did a lot of cringeworthy things, when I was trying to find out what I actually wanted to draw. NSFW stuff, SO MANY Sonic OCs, MLP... all of that. I also did a lot of RPs in forums and though you can't find them anymore, there are people around who know.

So... is that something to be embarrassed about? Maybe, but I try not to be. It's not my best work for sure, but I had immense fun doing these pictures back then. Doing fanart is still fun and I sometimes even go back and draw a pony, just because. While I grew out of these things for the most part, I just try to remember how great the times were. Not artistically, but I had fun, that's for sure.

So if someone were to dig them old Snic RPs up, I would just have a good laugh about silly old me and move on. Yeah, I was stupid back then, so what? Everyone was.

I did A LOT of bad RP with my ex friend and there's a certain NSFW drawing I posted on dA, but then decided to remove it. Running wayback machine through my gallery would work if someone was desperate enough. XD

I was pretty cringy as a teen, but a lot people could say the same about themselves. If someone were to dig up my past for whatever reason, I'll probably just shrug it off. People change, so I see no problem.

Nah I haven’t had an experience like that.

The first story I made had fc’s but then the characters wound up really diverging from that and then the entire story wound up having nothing to do with the franchise at all.
But I never wrote down that story. I had worked on it for 5 years, every single day, in the scape of my mind. It was a really complicated and messy story, but original and good. However, I realized it would never be able to be understood by human minds other than my own. So I scraped it and tried as hard as I could to forget about it.
And I did! Then I started making new way better stories​

Edit: Also, I would advise you not to write down all of your ideas until you REALLY know they are good. Quality control man, quality control

Would I be embarrassed of that first story if I had written it down? I guess. But I probably would have deleted those and then maybe only 10000 of my 1 million people would have seen(at the worst extreme). And either way, you were young and people understand:3 nothing to be ashamed about

We all had our fanfiction period. I never publish any (thank God xP) but I wrote a few here and there. I also did some light comics that were mostly copies of stuff I was watching back in the day (Initial D, bubblegum crisis). It was fun but horrible art, yet I don't mind people seeing them (I still have some in my deviantart account xP). They were the most cringe generic stuff carbon copies I could find...actually the bubblegum crisis copy I didn't wasn't so bad, but I got nothing from that time back up O_O

I am not ashame of the stuff and would laugh about it now, it might be embarrassing, but nothing major.

I dunno man, it's weird that everyone's focusing on the "cringy" stuff when we're now in an internet era when it's less and less cool to hate on young and inexperienced creators. Like.... the idea that writing a fanfiction with murder in it is something to be embarrassed about is much weirder to me than actually writing said fanfiction would be.

The communities I prefer to be a part of now are the ones that embrace things like self inserts and cliches, the ones that recognise those things as a lot of fun and support young creators even if their writing has a long way to go. I think you have to be careful when you slam your old work as "cringy" and stupid, because you never know who's looking up to you and is going to internalise those words. When Gigi D.G. did an April Fools joke of changing her website to be entirely populated by her old teenage art of the characters, she also created a little "About" page reassuring younger artists that she wasn't making fun of the old art, but celebrating how far Cucumber Quest had come.

So like.... yeah, your embarrassing old stuff might one day come to light, but I don't think it's something to run from -- it's just something that doesn't represent you anymore. I'm really open about the weird fandoms I was in and the cliche characters I used to have. I admit I'm very embarrassed by the sense of humour I had as a teen on deviantArt but like....... WE WERE ALL LIKE THAT BACK THEN. That's not something to fear coming to light, to me!

Alright guys, another question on a completely unrelated notice, has anyone seen tapas users vanish? Idk if they deleted their account or not, but this has happened to me 2 times already. So now that I notice I have 30 subscribers and the one that's missing is this user that was writing a comic. Since I was also subscribed to them, I noticed my library also had one less item. I go there, and their comic disappeared without me unsubscribing. Lastly, I go on my message board, and their messages also disappeared. This has already happened twice to me. Anyone else have the same experience? Did she just delete her account?

And yeah thats already happened and I died inside a little bit. There was actually a time in my life I wrote super cringy "crack" style Death Note fanfics when I was young and after hitting high school I was like "I'll never look back on this again!!!! I'll never bring it up!!!" If only I knew years later I would literally meet people who were hardcore fans of my Death Note fanfics and laughed over how hilarious they were.

I am 100% sure I subcribed because I got your upadates notifications and visited your page yesterday when I saw this post. You had 31 subs then I'm not there in the subs list and you have 30 ! This makes me so mad I'm sure I was subscibed to other comics too and then I stop receiving notfications and assume they are just not updating. When I search on my saved comics they are no longer there.

I thought about a glitch, but maybe is because the way the side menu is designed. In the left side we have the pages of the comic, and depening on the number of pages it randomly shows the sub button. We might be unsubing accidentally while navigating. Though I really don't know for sure. I will go and subcribe again You can sub to me again, but only if you still want to.

My family was poor as shit and I didn't have a computer or internet at the age I was drawing Sonic OCs and RPING anime and video game characters with my siblings into our own little multiverse insane crossover AU universe. The only ones that remember it are other siblings who were doing the same thing at the time and no one is gonna bring it up to embarrass the other since we all did it. So unless I do it to myself by finding and scanning all my old ass note books with my bad fanfics and OC's there's no fear of future embarrassment like there are for people that could afford to have internet during that phase.

The most embarrassment I have is pretty much an ongoing thing with my shit ability at the English language. Though I'm much better now that when I was when finally did get internet and tried to talk to people or join debates on things people would just respond with "I'm not talking / getting into a debate with someone who only 9 or 10 years old" (I was 18, but yeah... my English and Grammar were that bad)

the best thing you can do is ignore them if that happens. these kind of people thrive on harassment and attention. feeling they're validated or something.

As for me
i'm more "concerned" about a potential backlash now that i'll openly have gay/queer/even PDA content in my story (eventually) and lightly talk about matters of faith.

on normal circumstances no one would give a crap and i ultimately wouldn't care.
however, in my social circle, i was kind of a "big name" artist since 10 years ago and increasingly notorious nowadays lol.

my "social circle" have all kinds of outdated misconceptions about me and my beliefs. what i used to be vocal and passionate about 10+ years ago might not apply now.

they have this guilt-tripping mentality that's like, "how dare you do this kind of stuff now? you're one of us!!1!11"
and like i said, i don't REALLY care. they're not my audience. but goddamit i wish i wasn't as popular a name back in the days pfff XP

That's a good question though -- I think we all have some stuff we've done in the past that we're embarrassed of, especially when we're just getting started on the internet. My opinion on "cringey" stuff has changed a lot, because back in high school, my old DeviantArt and YouTube would be something I was really ashamed of and even wished I hadn't made one. I do still have some feelings about the past, but it's also a reminder of how far you've come in terms of art and personal growth. I mainly cringe over some of the ideas I had or the way I communicated (indeed there was a LOLOLOL WAFFLES!!! XD phase), but I'd find it more amusing than embarrassing if someone brought up my days in the Pokemon Heartgold fandom.

Well I have written a MLP fan fiction when I was 15 years old, however the writing was almost similar to My Immortal with better grammar and spelling and going through the LOL so random phase(it had vampires and an edgy plot so edgy it would give a knife cuts). I never want to see it for as long as I live.
