As due bad luck my cover was un rated, i'll do it again, i hope all you understand ^^'

Rate the cover above you according to the following criteria:
1.1. Creativity, Uniqueness: I looks OK. Nothing to special, but there is a nice contrast between tha background and the characters and the perspective is nice. I like the blush from the one on the front.
1.2. What do you think the story is about: It looks like a romance drama between those two.
1.3. Would you read the story if you only saw this cover: I'm not a fan of the genere, but I would check the sinopsis at least.
1.4. According to your taste, what would you suggest to change? I like covers to be more misterious or emotional, so I would try to achieve one of those topics. I feel it's quite "flat" right now.

-> Then i read the sinopsis and yap, romance And also... sadly this isn't the genere I love the most.. But i like the fact one of them is a ballet dancer

1.1 Creativity Uniqueness: For the uniqueness of your cover, I think it's unique enough and I really like your art style and how the characters look.
1. 2 What do you think the story is about? I didn't read the blurb yet so that I could guess what your story is about. It looks like action because of the color scheme and posing and family because of the little girl the guy is holding. Maybe a hint of fantasy as well. Maybe he kidnapped the child or maybe he is protecting the child from someone or maybe monsters? Or maybe the child will fulfill a prophecy of protecting the whole kingdom/world/humanity that's why he must protect her.
1.3 Would you read the story if you saw this cover? Maybe I will because it intrigues me about what will happen to the guy and the little girl. I'm not into action and fantasy that much but sometimes I want to add something different to my reading list to read something new.
1.4: According to your taste, what would you suggest to change? I think the color of the title could be a different color, something similar to the reddish background or a color from your characters clothes. Maybe try to make the title all caps. You could maybe try a different font with a more bold effect. Also, I suggest to try a more different shade of green if you prefer the green color to remain. The rest already looks great. Love the design of the background. It's like smoky ashes which definitely makes your book cover look more interesting. Love your art style, so overall a solid good book cover that is definitely intriguing.

Many apologies for not getting back to you on this yesterday. I was offline for a bit. Thank you for all comments. I understand your ideas on number ranting, I have a few of my own, lol. Eye-catching is what I like rather than unique. Sometimes (for me) unique distracts. Regarding what the subject of the story is, not quite but I see other people have different ideas but the main thing is, it intrigued you. Job done! Would you read it? Don't worry, not horror but the "maybe" you gave is pure gold. thank you. Re: suggestions for change. In the original the quote does have more contrast. I work on several different devices and its interesting to see how it shows up (or not) on which one's screen. Modern technology... meh. If you look closely at the top you'll see the artist's name is there so the only place left for author's name was down the side. or across the face (ewwww)

I'll try and get to your cover today. Again, many thanks for your comments. I really appreciate it. They made me feel I'd achieved what I wanted to and that's a good feeling.

thank you for the review. It appears that, for you (and others I hope) it achieved its goal! Yay.
To answer some questions:
I'm glad (truly) that you didn't find it particularly unique because sometimes I feel uniqueness distracts. You got (from your comments) an overall emotional connection and emotion with the characters etc. So this for me, was great to read. thank you. It's not quite revenge (although there is some) but the "seeking" is dead on.

You're on (and off sort off) with the modified photo idea. I handed several different ones to the artist (I'm in Seattle she's in Tasmania) and this is what she came up with. The really important part was the coloration of the character's skin because, as you read further into it you find that his race has the ability to change the color and that underneath, when he relaxes, the colors kind of fade in and out and swirl around.

Your eyes were drawn right where we wanted them to be so ... it worked!!! yay.

Yeah, working with the thumbnail is weird and don't even get me started on the banner! lol

Thanks for taking the time, dude! I've always been unsure about the colors in that gradient I was going for real romance novel harlequin vibe on the cover so I agree, not really unique haha. But I'm happy to hear you get a good vibes from it. I actually have three acts in my comic and I'm doing a new cover for each - I think I'll deepen the color of the water more and more with each one..and add my name thank you again! You've given me lots to consider!

1.1. Creativity, Uniqueness

It's pretty standard as far as (what I'm assuming) your genre is in terms of two people and a calm, romantic atmosphere. However, there are a few subtle differences that make it stand out. I like the simplistic way a foreground and background were established, and I am living for the subtle lighting under the bridge so that it doesn't seem like a black streak across the cover. I also like that it isn't the generic "two couples staring longingly into one another's eyes." The positioning is a good twist.

1.2. What do you think the story is about

It's a romance. And if it isn't I'm blind, lol. I think that its probably a star crossed lovers story; something where the two leads are seemingly drawn together by fate. Or perhaps they're ex-lovers who are seeing each other in a new way. Hopefully no one dies, because the title, colors, use of metamorphic creatures (butterflies), and distance between the pair also gives me those vibes.

1.3. Would you read the story if you only saw this cover

Personally, no, but that has nothing to do with the cover being bad in anyway. I tend to gravitate towards fantasy and action over slice of life. Miscommunication tends to be the primary conflict in the genre and those sorts of things drive me insane irl. I think if I were into romance, though, it would be eye-catching enough to catch my interest.

1.4. According to your taste, what would you suggest to change?

Very little, tbh. I think it was a very well thought out cover. I would recommend centering the title because it being off center is not as aesthetically pleasing and actually makes it harder to read. And I would encourage you to consider using the butterfly details a little more in the foreground to frame the bridge a bit more and lead the eye into the cover instead of out. Great fonts though, which is usually the hardest thing to accomplish, let's be fr.

Here goes my cover. I made it myself, but don't feel like that means you have to be nice. I'm constantly thinking about changing it, lol.

The marker lines are very personal, and simplistic graphics put all the focus on the drawing. I'd say it's a bit obvious that it came from a thumbnail rather than being drawn/cropped for cover purposes, but it's still a near distribution of elements
2. What do you think the story is about
Title aside, I'd say this is an adventure with great focus on this character, who might or might not be of the hot blooded and decisive kind
3. Would you read the story if you only saw this cover
Possibly not, but it's a matter of genre, not the content. Seems like Sci-fi with shonen inspirations, two things I don't feel strongly about.
4. According to your taste, what would you suggest to change?
I'd probably have less space between the picture and the edges (the white of Tapas pages does the work of a gutter on its own), and have the picture be far FAR less zoomed in. With just a face and a lot of hair, I can't really tell much about the character, and there's no background to deduce much else unless I'm really curious and check the description.

• The biggest thing that stands out to me is the wings curving into the foreground. The colors are also really intense. (Obviously, red in general causes a visceral response in people.)

1.2. What do you think the story is about

• Based on the image alone, witchcraft, and maybe bird-people? It also looks like a darker story.

1.3. Would you read the story if you only saw this cover

• Probably not, but that's just because it doesn't look like something I'd be into. It has nothing to do with the quality of the cover, but my own biases.

1.4. According to your taste, what would you suggest to change?

• Uhhhh... It's a bit busy. Mainly because the characters all have very complicated outfits. So potentially you could simplify the clothing? Although I understand if that's not possible. Just something to consider.

As for my cover... I'm gonna post the cover to one of my novels!

Just as an aside, this novel is in the process of being re-written, so updates might be slow.

I think it's unique which is great because it stands out more.

I didn't read your blurb so this is just my guess. I think it's about mermaids. Maybe a love story between a human and a mermaid.
Or maybe it's about life of being a mermaid/merman.
Maybe it's about someone who loves swimming and the beach.
Or maybe it's about two people stranded in an ocean, and the story revolves around how they will be rescued or saved by the turmoils of being lost in the sea.
Maybe it's a love story between two people who loves the sea and surfing.
1.3. Would you read the story if you only saw this cover?
It has an intrigued into it so maybe I'll read the story.
1.4. According to your taste, what would you suggest to change?
My suggestion is to draw their faces. I'm more attracted to book covers wherein I could see the faces of the characters in a cover. Maybe the water could be a lighter shade of blue or an aqua blue. I like the pink hair but maybe you could change the hairstyle. I like your title. It's different and interesting. I also like the font of your title. My suggestion is for your name maybe you can add it in the center and not on the side and make the font size bigger. I like the font and color too of your name.
It's a good book cover, and it has it's own intrigue to capture readers. So well done.

1. In my opinion not very unique or creative, but don't take that the wrong way I really like the cover honestly. Just the mysterious looking over shoulder thing has been done a lot before. JS but again I like the cover though.

2. If I had to guess based off just cover. Probably something to do with a humanoid like animal or creature. Either A hunting after something or B tryna fight back against or survive against someone hunting it.

3. Honestly I probably wouldn't stop to read it just off the cover. I might remark that I think it's nice but nothing on the cover interest me enough to wanna know more.

4. Ok first off all in all I think it's a good cover and a good concept. But I would Honestly A. Make whatever it is that's on the cover stand out more honestly you need to make everything on the cover stand out more everything blends together to much makes it look to uniform and boring nothing really catches your eye. B. I would change the color of some stuff so everything doesn't look so similar. And lastly I would change the font so that the subtext at the bottom is easier to read and stands out more so people will actually look at the title.
   All and all I hope you don't think I was being to critical cause really do think the art looks nice I just think things need to pop and stand out more so the art can really be appreciated.

I like the background and the guy a lot I really wish I could draw such a background. The fire looks really good

A tragic love story, that maybe started or have a big change point in a burning building .

1.3. Would you read the story if you only saw this cover?
Even though I like the background, the female character looks a little bit odd here and I don't like tragic love stories, so I wouldn't click on it. Sorry.

1.4. According to your taste, what would you suggest to change?
first I would change the lighting on the characters. He has too much light from the fire (looks like his hair burning) and she don't has any. And because there is light from the back, you must add more shadow in the front.
I also think that her proportions are a little bit odd. Looks like she is pregnant, but on the upper tummy .... also her breast is too much and when she is in this position her breast would be higher. By her I also would change the lightning a lot. Especially the white blanket is unrealistic. When it's this dark and there is only red light, there wouldn't be a white tone.
I really like the man and the background, but she feels like she don't belong there.
I would also like the title to stand out more and gab between "W" and "andering" is too much. Maybe you should switch the color of the title in a more warm tone (like the fire). Purple doesn't stand out here... maybe because of the background.
And add your name on it On a cover you should add your name as creator
