This job has reopened due to the previous artist stepping down due to IRL work conerns. However I wish for the project to continue. The first seven pages need the aid of a colorist but are otherwise nearly good to go.
Since the orgional thread is long locked I'm going to repost it as it was with a few minor edits.
Hey. I'm Rasp and I'm primarily a GL novelist and comic writer. Unfortunately recent events likely caused by the viral outbreak have resulted in me losing contact with the artist of my ongoing series. The artist in question had a long history of health problems and while I hope for the best I fear he may have passed away. Despite my best efforts to make contact I've not heard from him in over a month. Hopefully this is a communication problem and it will be resolved at some future point but for the time being I've decided to move forward on a project I've been tooling around with for a while.
I've been experimenting with a comic with the development title of 'Demons are a girls best friend.'
It's the story of a young huntress who shortly after the death of her adoptive father finds a demonic tome among his possessions. With her saving quickly evaporating she attempts to sell the tome attracting the attention of the local clergy. Unfortunately the leadership decides the entire village is potentially corrupted and Paladins are brought in to purge the entire thing including our Heroines best friend. Our heroine is captured rather than killed for reasons unbeknownst to her and spends years being painfully molded into some sort of magical monstrosity. Until she is set free and sets out on a quest to destroy the church and everyone involved with the death of her best friend in particular. Along the way unintentionally building something bigger and better than herself with her army of demons.
I think working on a page by page payment scheme is fair - 50% up front - 50% on completion after we settle on a price.
I'm expecting most of the project to be black and white with color/shading only used for important scenes or covers. So I'll need someone skilled at both. Manga style with simple environmental backgrounds is preferable but I'll look at anything so long as it isn't overly detailed.
I'll allow artists to keep their own schedule and I'll expect weekly progress updates and to be notified if something important comes up. (Things happen all I ask is you keep me in the loop.)
I'd like to start by doing the first 5 chapters and seeing how that goes. 40-45 pages I'm guessing based on how the first two went. The script is not finalized and I certainly will welcome the creative input of the artist especially when it comes to character design. I'm interested in having someone who wants to make their mark on the material.
Also there might be GL. If you don't do GL give it a pass no pressure.
Ya'll can contact me here or send offers/portfolios through my business account Raspbryl @ gmail and I'll get back to you promptly.
If you want to see the draft of the first chapter here that is: NOTE: This draft is out of date and doesn't line up with the current script.
I should have the finished sketches soon and I'll add them here when available. (Your art does not have to match the original.)
If you want to get a better look at my writing here is a novel I worked on last year:
