I got into a great Master's program for public health and classes start next week (online don't worry). I'm excited and also terrified I'm going to end up abandoning my comic, or tanking my GPA. Hopefully I'll be able to manage both and working full time (welp). Is anyone else (or was) in the same situation? Any tips?

I'm not sure it's warranted, yet, but I've started a patreon to hopefully cover part of my tuition so I can work fewer hours and spend more time on the comic.

I have kids. work full time. am working on my Masters in management sciences and wrote a novel on 5 months xD

Is anyone else (or was) in the same situation? Any tips?

I'm currently getting my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. I make time during the weekends and during breaks.

I also tell people that I don't have a concrete schedule. They know coming in that I won't update regularly because I have school and work. Long as you make time and let people know, you're good.

And remember this: you're never too old or younger to get back into comics. If you feel you've become too busy for your comic, you can always come back to it. Nothing gets lost to time unless you let it get lost. There is no rush -- you do what you need to do to do right by yourself and your life.

It's amazing that you're going for your masters, and I'm proud of you. This is important to you, and so are your comics. But you getting you masters doesn't mean you care less for your comics. You're just doing what you know is right for you. And no irritated "fan" of your comic can tell you differently.

That's awesome, congrats! I have an internship coming up in a week or so and it's going to go for three weeks, so I feel you!

I think have a good buffer helps (so always have like two or three comics/chapters ready and unpublished). Also, make sure you set aside some time just for yourself so you can relax and rest. It's super easy to get burned out when you've got a lot on.

for sure! I been trying to get a big buffer going before school. going to try to do 3 more pages before next week. then i'll only have 10-11 pages to reach the end of the year. hopefully ill be able to do that while in school

Health Policy and Management at CUNY SPH! How was it? did you die? did you get a related job?

I did Epi/Biostats. I loved my program and only died a little My last semester I think my brain slowly disintegrated but I got through comps and my capstone! It took a little while but I currently have a stats related job. Depending where you are or are job hunting, you may have a better chance. Health policy is more versatile though.

You should be good then up there finding something. Master's programs are an entirely different beast. My advice would be to never hesitate to ask questions and get to know your advisor. Also, live by your syllabus and don't procrastinate on those assignments that aren't due until the end of the semester. Writing a six page paper the weekend before with the power of Mountain Dew isn't fun
