I'm working on my first webcomic and I need a good font to use. Unfortunately the text option on my art program only has default fonts and you can't download more on it. Think very basic fonts, it has a lot.
I think this is a pretty good, simple one http://www.blambot.com/font_acmesa.shtml it's free, too!
This might not be the most specific, but a sans-serif font is usually better for webcomics than a serif font. Sans-serif reads more easily in digital space, and most common comic fonts are sans-serifHere's a quick guide that I found online that tells you the difference.http://maconprinting.com/serif-versus-san-serif-fonts
In the past I've used Eurostile, which is default on Mac. It's easy to read and looks a bit techy. On windows a comparable font might be Segoe and its variations or Myriad.
Define "default" font? If by default, you mean a word balloon/dialogue font, you can find some decent ones at www.blambot.com.
