@Paul_Tromba Whoa, I love your cover! Did you make it yourself?
It is a beautiful afternoon here—only 90 degrees out, which means it's really getting into fall. Or at least false fall.
I just updated my novel this afternoon! Here's a snippet from the most recent chapter:
“So,” she said, sighing and sinking further down the sofa. “I don’t think you’re working with him. No, you couldn’t have worked together, but there is the matter of the sightings.”
“I heard about those. People scare themselves. See things that aren’t there. You used to think your rooms were haunted.”
“I’m still not convinced they weren’t. But yes, I brushed it off as superstition at first. We painted you black enough. You were meant to scare children and their parents alike, so if there ever was another volshebnik as stupid and dangerous as you were, the small folk would think twice before following him. We wanted you to be their worst nightmare. So, yes, I might have cause to believe that people are just seeing things. But then, here you are.” She sat up straight again. “So that bird’s not gonna sing anymore.”
Good evening!

Happy to join the bandwagon! Sharing my current WIP & tourney piece, a dark action fantasy with characters that would probably be villains in other stories. We've got blood magic, necromancy (points if you can see it before it's explictly introduced, hints of (one-sided) rivals-to-lovers romance, and a family with garbage communication but strong bonds.
In a cutthroat world where rank and status are dictated by magical affinity, Elana is a royal disappointment. Despite being born into a family of high ranking dark magicians, she can’t conjure a whisper of magic. Her best chance of surviving the famously brutal Trials of the Royal Magic Academy is to rely on her own raw intellect and Soren, her not-so-trusted attendant… until tragedy strikes, revealing a new path forward. With a score to settle, she's hellbent on paying back double the pain and avenging her way to the top. If she lives long enough to do it.
Love this, please check this out!
The world’s second-greatest superhero is dead, slain by his most hated rival, the feared and reviled man known only as The Dancer, leaving Kingsport City vulnerable and adrift. In the wake of Darkstar’s fall, with the city threatens to unravel, and The Sovereign—Earth’s Most Extraordinary heroes— left reeling without one of its most integral members all eyes turn to Nathan Neal, better known as Kid Rocket, Darkstar’s former sidekick.
Burdened by the weight of expectation, Nathan is forced to grapple with a daunting choice: can he truly step into the role of Darkstar, or does he even want to?
Thanks so much! I was hoping another thread like this would show up. My story's about a spiritualist/mage named Mancer who makes a contract with a time spirit so he can go back in time and save the people he cares about (and maybe the world in the process). I know it's pretty mainstream, but I hope you'll give it a read!

Mother of the Spiders: Octagon
Horror, Psychological Thriller, Paranormal
When a predator targets a lonely young girl, eight strangers can either fight to stop him, or face the wrath of the spirit that tied their fates together.
I drew from a lot of personal pain to come up with the story, and I hope it can reach others who have struggled with loneliness and help everyone feel a little bit more connected to one another. Enjoy!

Asukem, an 18-year-old orphan from Rikros, is transformed into a sinkin by an evil demon who wields power to torment souls with her lust. Ah'keim, a powerful being with a mysterious ulterior motive, mentors him as he struggles to regain his humanity and undo the damage caused by the female demon. With the help of new friends who try to help him escape his fate as a sinkin, Asukem sets out to fight the void and gain control over his powers, all while seeking redemption for his past sins.
Nobles have been granted complete freedom to pursue their desires ever since Lady Evealeana was defeated and the Great Divines abandoned them. They now roam freely throughout Rikros, causing even more hardships for the people. However, one young nobleman, Balzamir Smith of the Smith noble family, refuses to stand idly. In contrast, his kind inflicts suffering on others. Despite being of noble lineage, he is branded a traitor and cast out. Balzamir Smith's journey of redemption takes a unique turn, delving into tales of slavery, criminal activities, and mistreatment of all races in Rikros. His story began as a child in a wagon with his father.
