hello, it's been a while since I've made a topic here. I've been thinking of holding a contest for my webcomic Mirror Monster2 once(/if) it reaches 250 subscribers seeing as it's currently at 211. I've had an idea of having a fan art contest, and thought that it could maybe be a good idea to have some merch (which I plan on eventually making, I'm pretty sure I'll have a lot of time since growth is always slow) such as posters/shirts/stickers etc. and also personal character art for the winners, of course, prizes varying with the 3 different placements. is this a good idea? is it too much/too little? if I were to do this I'd want good enough prizes to encourage people to join, when the time comes. all feedback is very much welcome =)

I personally think straight-up cash is the best prize. I have too much clutter in my home to be interested in merch. If people want the merch, they'll straight-up buy it.

I think that's great to get the Merch as prizes. Having it personal is always nice, not to mention you'll be getting them some art yourself, so I think that's a great exchange in my opinion If I were a fan of your series.

I don't have the money too lol. I'm also doing a fanart contest myself and I just put illustrations for the winners as a prize since that is basically the only thing I can offer :')

I think that stickers and merch are great prices! I have been thinking about a contest too and most likley I would make toys or plushies, I love making them, they are lightweight and I think I can ship them at a decent price.
Once I won a printed manga of the comic hosting the contest and a keychain made of fabric, it's really exciting to win anything and I would love to participate in yours.

Merchandise could work and indeed, money would be the best prize I guess.

I think art for the art is the best  You can draw their characters or any other, maybe a few characters for the first place. Merch should be sent and this costs money too, also not everyone likes to collect stuff, and giving money to the winners of the small fanart contest is somewhat strange actually, from my point of view.

They might like an original traditional drawing or painting--so something that's one of a kind.
