And don't worry about my cutting their limbs off so they can play dress-up. They're shapeshifters, and those limbs will grow back when they shift.

There is actually a specific creature in Irish folklore called Puca which is a shapeshifter and it has red eyes and can take form of a horse or other animals or even people. In some legends a drunk guy, looking for a horse to ride they dash so fast that they have the guy fall off. Their goal is to scare the person to death. Very interesting huh.
