Happy 810nicle Day guys! Today is an important holiday today because it celebrates probably one of my favorite toylines and probably one of the biggest factors in me deciding to pursue a career in art and writing today.

Bionicle has always been such a massive influence on my art, character design, story-telling, worldbuilding, and bunch of other creative stuff that I'm genuinely not sure where I'd be if Bionicle hadn't existed. Heck, my decision to get into creative projects and the creation of was actually born of Bionicle's first cancelation back in 2010 with me wanting to make a tribute to such a big part of my childhood growing up.

So share your favorite things about Bionicle like what your favorite sets were, your relationship with it if you ever played with them, or just your general thoughts on the toyline in general as a whole. It's time to celebrate our favorite robots today and have fun doing it.

Also, my favorites were Gali, Galit Nuva, Gahlok, and Gali: master of Water from the reboot.

Bionicle is that series that comes and goes from my consciousness every so often. But every time it's always some good memories. Honestly had to look up which ones I had and when I got into the series. The Toa from Mata Nui was how I started, but my favorites were Toa Metru. I thought they were cool as hell.

But I have a total soft spot for the Piraka and especially the Barakki + Toa Mahri cause of the commercials. Those things were creepy as hell and I loved them. What a good trip down memory lane. Didn't know anything about the lore beside the whole Mask of Light deal, but building the sets was always fun. Honestly how I preferred to play with Legos. Didn't realize it got canceled and later rebooted. As you can tell, I'm from the 2003 - 2007 era. All in all, great memories.

Yeah, 2007 was one of my favorites as well. Though I'll also be the first to admit that the Barraki gave me the creeps (from the deep) as well due to the fact that I'm terrified of the deep ocean and the beasts that lurk within.

I was actually with the Bionicle franchise since day 1 back in 2001actually. I still remember that I fell in love with Gali and Gahlok yet could never properly pronounce their names or click the ball joints together without my dad's help.

Yeah, it got rebooted early 2015 and got canned mid 2016 unfortunately due to some unfortunate behind the scenes management troubles at LEGO at the time. (Which is also why other lines like Chima and Nexo Knights fell flat on their faces as well unfortunately.) Its sets were wonderful (Especially their redesigns of the original six Toa Mata) and the story, though unfortunately never hitting the heights that the original version did, but it did have its good points and hints of greatness beneath the hood that were unfortunately never properly explored due to the aforementioned meddling behind the scenes.

Ah well, at least Ninjago's carrying Bionicle's torch pretty well from what I've seen at least.

My goodness, this takes me back to my middle school days when I was super into Bionicle despite the franchise being over for 5 years at that point. I was toddler around the time Bionicle was in it's prime. The toys were cool, the world was cool, the lore was awesome, it was all around amazing and why I feel the 2015 reboot failed.

There was actually a time where I wanted to make a full length Bionicle comic adaptation from the beginning of the story to the end of it. I had it all set out in my head and tried drawing it at some point but 12 year old me couldn't draw for shit so that idea never went anywhere and basically died when the reboot was announced.

Lol, yeah. My big comic passion project I had for a few years was basically just Bionicle in everything except name and character design. Even after I took moves to separate it from, Bionicle and make it more unique, that toyline's fingerprints could still be seen on it as well.

I also had an idea for a comedic "Abridged Series" type webcomic retelling of Bionicle with an art style inspired by LEGO's Mixels line called "The Bonklemen" that never really went anywhere either. Oh well...

Man, there was a whole part of my childhood defined by green day, linkin park and bionicle XD. I didn’t own any, but my friends did and thought they were cool. Happy bionicle day!

This was my second favorite toyline. I bought all of the generations when I was a kid. I'm kinda happy that they stopped making toys when I stopped playing with them (2010) which was just perfect. Transformers will forever be my favorite one, but Bionicles is probably the reason I was a writer due to me just creating all sorts of cool characters.
