oh my god i never saw this! i was gonna make a belated post about it as an asexual aro spec creator myself :^)
I have a lot of ace and aro spec characters but in my comic specifically (which doesn't have a ton of aspec (human) characters, admittedly), Gray, the protagonist, is aspec. gray-aro and gray-ace (lol). Eben, her deceased aunt (who will eventually show up and be relevant in backstory), was acearo and Leilah, who's also deceased but will be eventually veeery important, is aro spec! and then the spirits - including grounded spirits - by default lack sexual and romantic orientations, as they never had need to reproduce, but I'm not sure if they'd count as ace/aro, aha. i guess it depends on your perspective! same with them being nonbinary, since naturally they dont have gender or sex. some very select spirits do however experience some kind of romantic (or sexual) feelings - as humans would still be considered aspec though - for others, and some as grounded spirits (aka spirits forced into human bodies) decided to adopt gender because they thought it was neat, so you can definitely make the case that they count as asexual/aromantic characters.
I'll have to check out your story @justanothernerdling ! Won't have time right away but soon :^)
