Has a scene in a anime ever upset you deeply?

In terms of sadness and not visceral horror (or anger at bad writing)… I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but every scene in FMAB that reiterates that Ed and Al are just kids. I watched the series for the first time when I was eight or so, and thought they were just the coolest, but on a rewatch when I was just older than they were at the start of the show it really did click that like. Oh. Those are two disabled orphans. The Elric brothers are children who lost everything and are now being exploited by the government to fuel a plot to usurp god. There’s a lot of moments in that show that are immediately heartbreaking, but that one took almost a decade to sink in for me and it really stuck.

Assassination Classroom's ending.

I kid you not, I was near my siblings when I watched and it took me all I had not to bawl right then and there.

When I closed my PC and went up to my room, I genuinely cried out to the point that I had to drink water because of how thirsty I got. lmao
