Has any comics/novels in tapas been turned into a book?

I don't know why ppl would like to buy a book if they can read fo free. Unless the book has much more new content

There's a popular story on here called 'Fangs' which has just finished, it had been well advertised before the ending and book announcement. The book is available with a beautiful cover and extra content, looking at her store it looks she has other works available, different subjects.
Everything is done right IMO, pace yourself, pace the uploads, build a following, be generous but offer much more to paying customers.
If you have completed work ready to go already then it may be a good idea to make available as the longer something is about the more likely it is to get noticed, eg. Fangs author's previous works.

There's an appeal in having the physical thing if you really liked the story and characters - to show off to less webcontent savvy friends, or just to support the artist. People usually have the books be the final draft, while the webnovel is earlier and might not be as polished.

OP, check out merch stores of the comics you're subscribed to, they might have physical versions even if it's not published in stores, and probably a ton of them are open to questions about printing and formatting(especially if you have a scroll comic).

Oh yeah, several! One comic and two novels so far, another one of each on the way. Depending on what your goals are ("I just want a few copies to pass out among friends" vs "I want to sell physical copies on Amazon and to book stores") it can be fairly simple or take a loooooot of steps. But if you've already gone through the work of making/writing a full book, it's nothing the average stubborn person can't handle.

If fans really like your work and you've shown you know how to make a quality book, some will be willing to buy a copy even if they've read it all for free already. On our comic series we've had between 2%-4% of our readers pledge to our two Kickstarters, judging by the numbers. It doesn't seem like much but it more than justifies the books existing cost-wise and we enjoy having them.

I always like doing a physical book when I can. There's just such a nice feeling having the actual thing in your hands.

Currently working on truly self-publishing my current webnovel. Just gotta get it edited before I can file the copyright and so forth.

For Amazon, did you upload print files to them or does Ingramspark/something else handle the printing? How's the print quality?

For Amazon I did it through KDP and uploaded a print quality version. And it turned out pretty nice for black and white! Everything came out sharp and clear, even when the pdf I uploaded was only in 300 dpi. I chose KDP initially because there is no upfront cost, and covered all that I needed for my comic.

IngramSpark is separate and that's what I'm looking at for my novel, since they distribute to libraries and bookstores and are not limited to only Amazon. I've heard good things about them! It does cost to upload to them ($49 for both print and e-book, a bit less if you're just going either or), but I think their distribution reach is worth it, as opposed to KDP which is restricted to Amazon.

Oh yeah, I used Ingramspark for the print of one of my novels. If you wait to do your setup during Nanowrimo season they put out a code you can use to waive setup fees I spotted my book on an Australian bookseller site the other day and that was pretty sweet. That's the biggest downside to Ingram right now as far as I can tell: it doesn't alert your or anything when someone picks up your book.

We've got some fans in France and Germany who have been interested in our print comics, but shipping is so expensive! Making books available through Ingram is great but that means encouraging fans to bug their local stores to pick it from Ingram's catalog. Good to hear that Amazon print quality is decent, it might be worth getting into Amazon.fr for those fans to have a shot at an affordable print version.

I've been asking the same question to myself from time and time again. I'd love to make physical copies of my manga one day and sell them to fans. Of course, I still need to build an audience for that.
Overall this thread is giving me some hope
