Has anyone else heard about Tapas shutting down?

I just seen the article...welp- !

I was planning on just running my webcomic series on this site and trying to create my own- I'm done with Webtoon...but since/if this site is going down, I guess I'll be creating my own site. I kinda had a feeling it was a matter of time; Tapas has not been screaming success [loudly] over the past 3-4 years...

I'm not sure about a lot of other sites out there, especially since a number of them seem to be using some degree of AI in their functions...so I guess we'll see where I land.

Seeing that Tapastic is going to shut down by the end of the year, I made the decision to delete all my works on the platform and move on.

This is pretty much the same for me...would be nice if I could cash out my remaining "ink" balance by year's end(a nice parting gift)

I just relaunched Struck By You on here exclusively. I didn't like Webtoons and now I have to be forced to go back...I really appreciate my fans and sense of community on here

I'm a webnovelist that has been on hiatus and was planning to come back. Right now, I'm only seeing alternatives for comic people here. There aren't too many alternatives for web novelists. Sad that Tapas is going be gone.

I heard about this too. The first thing I thought was...glad I have my own website. Also have a modestly successful Substack. Future plans will include NamiComi I think.
I'm not particularly stressed about it because at the end of the day I'm doing my comic for fun so really it's fine as long as I have a place to put it so others can also have fun reading it.
(Even if it is a little surreal as Tapas was my first place to get readers and subscribers back in 2018)

Altough I crosspost to Webtoons, and my numbers are better there, but Tapas was always a special one for me. I've started to post my comics here, and I also love to read this forum too (I guess it is gonna be shut down too).
I never managed to transfer the inks I received here, but at least I had some hope ), on webtoons I never received any superlike (Okay, okay, it is not about the money, but I always had that dream to achieve once a small amount of income.)

I'm worried. It is so hard to grow these days on webtoons too, they don't give a shit to canvas creators, and I feel that it will be just worse.
On Namicomi I'm invisible, and I don't like the UI
I don't know what to expect.

Anyone know if there's any way to like download your comics at all? Mostly ask cause I have a habit of clearing the PNG files and keeping the working docs, but this is like...five years worth of comics I'd have to screw around with

i legit just woke up to this news and on the one hand there's this quiet "oh" given certain signs seemed to be there already. tho i'd wanted to hold out some hope, but the other is just a weird mix of sorrow and frustration since this place is where i'd first built up my online presence before expanding to other sites.

granted i've not uploaded any new work in years and my activity on the forums has become much more than quiet lurking again but i'd at least like to know if i can download the backlog of all my old work. coz like....i attempted it once and i dont feel like i'd gotten everything so a final sweep before the end in the least painful manner than it already is would be nice

all said i'm pretty sure i've got my social links in my profile description thing but lowkenuinely hurts to see it.....

i actually will admit that it does seem odd so if anything i'm waiting to see what official announcements tapas themselves or kakao make regarding any of this especially since i've not seen anything from official channels and only the one news article but i'd still like the option to get my work off and reuploaded elsewhere just in case coz you can never be to sure and it's not entirely absurdist to see websites just vanish overnight (the love nikki fan's just went through this one)
