Has anyone tried creating physical copies if their comic

On a huge scale / really epic widescreen size? Just wondering. I bought some graphic novels in Paris once and loved how large they were and the detail you could appreciate

http://Readycomics.com does all the standard comic book sizes, but I had talked to them about doing a strangely shaped children's book and they had the capability and the willingness to work with me to make it happen. If you want to print an oddly shaped book, it might be worth it to talk to them about it. No idea what the cost would be though.

https://www.lulu.com/ also has a bunch of non-standard book sizes. They don't specialize in comics like the other company does, but they are a very popular printer for nontraditional type things. Their print quality is also very nice.

While I have printed my comic, I dont think I'm going to make a giant sized version of my comic at its original dimensions. That's too much money to spend towards printing something of that size. The comic market in Europe can do that because they treat their comics like how we would treat a bestselling novel- therefore, they have connoisseurs who will invest in books at that size. You have to be a real hardcore comic fan/collector to spend a lot of $$$ on omnibuses that reprint original black & white pages at their original size here in the states(I wanted to pick up the Walt Simonson THOR omnibus from IDW some years back, but I didnt have a $150 to throw at it).

I remember back in the days when I was a kid, Marvel used to make giant sized issues of comic books almost all the time...

Ah man, I wish. I did print off a couple a5 copies of a short comic, but that experience taught me that printing is usually...sort of expensive. IIRC it was about $13 to print just the two, so producing comics at a larger size (I'm assuming you mean around a4 or larger) does seem a little impractical for the average webcomic author. Would be cool to see, though.

Oh man, I live right by Ready Comics! I've been itching to try them out, hopefully once I get my stuff together to print a sampler of Heart Hex, I'll be able to use them and report back.

I work at a Staples and I get all my work done there with a custom clear cover and pull out character sheets! I spend maybe 6-10 per book!
