Has anyone tried using Medibang Paint?

It looks interesting with its cloud features allowing multiple users to work on the same thing at once (like one person sketches, another accesses the file and linearts, and so on) and its arsenal of comic tones and stock background scenes.

I'm already using Clip Studio Paint which also provides toning tools/stock background/tone effects, but Medibang Paint looks more extensive.

Second, Medibang seems like a great place to publish art/comics since it's very similar to Pixiv but offers international language support. You can upload your stories in .PDF format or something similar and also enable online purchases of the comic/publishing on 3rd party sites. Too bad it doesn't seem like a very popular social art site... The only time it gets any notice is its annual shounen JUMP contest.

I've tried medibang and as a free alternative it really is fantastic. It has a lot of tools and its library of tones and effects is huge. I still think I prefer clip though to be hones, although it's really just a personal preference. For me at least, I like the sensitivity on clip's tools better than that of medibang and there's also animation features on it now which is great. As for the website, I've had some experience posting my comic there. As of now, I'm not a big fan of it. There's still some stuff untranslated from japanese, and the website is rather confusing to navigate through. It took me at least an hour to figure out how to even upload my comic. I do hope some of my problems change with it in the future though.

I'm actually using it now for rough sketches and inking. It's the most impressive free software I've ever seen. I totally like their snapping guides especially the perspective ones totally helps with the background drawing.

On the other hand, I use Clip Studio for coloring and digital painting because of their brushes settings.

It's the only graphics program I've ever used for my comics since I got my drawing tablet. It's very lightweight and, as has been said upthread, has a very useful array of tools. Pretty good stuff for a freeware program.

I'm using it! They added a watercolor function in the recent update and it allows watercolor tool to look more....watercolor-y,I tried it a number of times and its really fun to use!

I also have to recommend it. I do all of my drawing in sai, but bubbles, text, and some special effects for my comic are all done in medibang It's probably the best free drawing program out there at the moment.

I tried it on iPad pro and I must be the only person who can't stand it. The interface takes up the whole screen and it doesn't respond to pen pressure for me : ( Maybe the desktop version is better, but I can't see myself using it much anyway.

Too bad because I love the screentone selection and effects on it...

Can it color drawn pages that have been scanned to a computer like how it would color a manga made using the app

I USE IT ITS PRETTY DAMN FANTASTIC. easy to use too....well for the first part. Got it faster then paint tool sai and it has alit of easy download brushes

Yes. My friend also uses Medibang to color his scanned drawings and it looks pretty good.

Yes, Medibang does have some confusing navigation stuff, mostly just user-unfriendly since I can't find out how to browse versus just clicking my own uploads. I don't have problems navigating in Japanese though.

Nope, unfortunately. We've already got a lot on our hands running our comics and school's about to start soon so I doubt he'll find time to make one. So sorry about that.

In any case, I'm sure there's a lot of tutorials floating around on the internet that'll suit your needs. Most tutorials use either SAI or Clip, though, but I think most of the tools on those programs have analogs on Medibang.

okay but one last question, is der a way i can use the lasso like how i would in an adobe photoshop app
Cuz their lasso is not magnetic like how adobe's is

The lasso tool on Medibang functions the same way as the one on Photoshop.

My only gripe is that it can't handle advanced effects and doesn't have something akin to PS's Pen tool, but it's awesome nonetheless.
