Texas is huge... There's a reason why it's often used when exaggerating the size of something, e.g. "My new bed is, like, the size of Texas!"
Urban Texas (if so, which city?)? Rural? Suburban? Depending on how rural you are, you might even get into the zones where you measure distance by driving hours.
This isn't Texas, but I know person A who lived in a Midwest state, and person B who came from a European city to visit her.
A: "Hey, our mutual friend C lives nearby. Wanna go visit them while you're in the area?"
B: "Sure!"
Two hours of driving later,
B: "Uh, didn't you say C lives nearby...?"
A: "Yeah! We're halfway there."
