What ratscout said. I've read a lot of light novels and their accompanying manga/manhwas as well. I'm a dork for these kinds of things, so much so that I pester my girlfriend to keep getting me volumes from when she visits her parents in Japan. But having said that, I've noticed a couple of things. What might take 100s of chapters in a novel is often rushed within 10s of chapters in a comic. Details are skimmed over, even interactions between certain characters to make the script appear more fast-paced. I still enjoy them both, but I've noticed how some transitions end up butchering the story as well. This happens when these transitions happen from comic to motion media like TV shows or animes as well. Tokyo Ghoul! Oh, how they made the story a 100 times worse by going off script!
The only times I've not experienced this is with FMA: Brotherhood and Monster. They stuck to the source material like glue and made it work like magic.
But going back to the topic at hand! Yes, it's a part of my long-term goal. I would love for my work to become a comic, maybe more. I would need an artist because I'm not delusional enough to think I could master art to a degree that I would be satisfied with any time soon. But I would very much like to be involved with the scripting process, to avoid a GRRM fiasco, like with Game of Thrones.
