Hi everyone! I've been posting my series "Everwake" on Tapastic since the end of September 2015, and figured it was time to say hello (I somehow missed the forums entirely up until recently!
) and I would love some feedback on my manga/novel.
Main reason I'm looking for feedback:
The style in which I've been doing Everwake is different from anything else on here, and thus far I've only found two other artists/novelists ever that have done something similar to what I'm doing.
SO...
my series is here: https://tapastic.com/series/Everwake
Basically, it's part novel, part artwork, part manga. The artwork are panels or scenes that also tell the story and there are also full pages and scenes of manga within.
I feel that Everwake would get much more attention being a full manga instead of half novel. So why am I doing it this way? Well, for 1, I have 4+ Books written, and I'm quite attached to the story, the flow of it all, the progress, and the intricacies. I cannot fathom how I would make it all a manga and maintain the structure of the entire story. The prologue alone was one paragraph that became 11 pages. I have 30 chapters per book, each about 15 pages in length (written, no artwork included).
I originally wrote the story simply because I loved doing it, eventually I hammered out the artwork and decided it was something I wanted to share with the world.
Anyways, I would love to hear some feedback, mainly surrounding those thoughts...
Would you be more likely to read Everwake if it was completely manga? Does the novel style deter you from reading it?
Or does anyone like that it's done this way and will like it even more in the long run because the story will be able to progress more quickly in this style?
One of the manga panels, simply for viewing pleasure
