Hey y'all! Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, my team and the comic we create called Kamikaze. We're really new to Tapastic (only signed up last Thursday) but we already love it here. Figured we should join the chatter here in the forums too.
The Story: In a desolate future, feudal corporate houses hoard the last patches of fertile crop land. A young courier is unwittingly thrown into a life or death game of espionage and sabotage from which she might never escape.
Who We Are: Our comic is made through the efforts of three artists (including myself). I'm Carrie, and my husband Alan and I created Kamikaze back in college. We both come from a professional animation background. Our partner Havana, comes from a design background, and came on a few years ago to help us out. She's naturally gifted in this sort of thing
What We Do: Alan does the rough drawings, backgrounds, and final compositing. I (Carrie) do the majority of the writing, and ink & paint work. Havana is our clean up artist, character designer, and does a lot of the graphic work you see in the series.
Why You Should Care: We started off as a concept for an animated series, got to pitch to people like Adult Swim too, but ultimately we weren't Batman, and the bean-counters said we were too risky unless we could prove we had an audience. This is why we're working so hard to get our name out there, and fans to support us. We're of the opinion that while comedy is great for older audiences, it shouldn't be the only genre we can enjoy to see western animation! If you love watching cartoons, but get frustrated when they can't touch on heavier subjects, we hear you and we want to fix that!
When We Post: Every Wednesday!
Where We Post: Here on Tapastic and on our own website KamikazeAnimated.com
And here's a sample of art for ya! <3
Cheers, ya'll!
