Help with alternate uppercase in CSP?

Hi everyone! I've got a question for you guys. I know many of you use Clip Studio Paint to make comics, so I was hoping someone could help me with this issue.
I recently downloaded a bunch of comic fonts through Adobe Fonts. One of these is Comicraft's "Meanwhile". At first I thought the fonts I got would only work in Photoshop and other Adobe-related products, but apparently I can get it to work in other softwares too, like Microsoft Word and Clip Studio Paint. However... I'm encountering a little issue.

See, the font comes with alternate uppercase letters. In Photoshop, it seems to automatically recognize when there's a single, uppercase "I" and it changes the letter accordingly to make it look different from the regular "i". In Clip Studio, however, the alternate uppercase thingy doesn't seem to work. Here's an example of what I mean:

As you can see, the first "I" looks different in Photoshop and CSP. Edit - forgot to add: nope, capitalizing/using caps lock in CSP wont' work either.

Sooo... is there any way I can get the alternate uppercase I to show up in CSP just as it does in Photoshop? Does anybody else have the same issue? I'm especially interested in knowing if people who bought the font from Comicraft itself are experiencing the same issue, 'cos I thought the problem could be with Adobe Fonts rather than with CSP.

Not sure if that helps in any way, but I'm on a Windows 10 and the software versions I'm currently using are Adobe Photoshop 2020 and Clip Studio Paint EX 1.10.6.

Most of the comic fonts I use have it so that if you capitalize the "I" to get the crossbar I. While if you leave it uncapitalize like "i" it will give you the I without the crossbars.

Not sure if the font you're using is set up to work this way as well but that's generally what you have to do when working in CLIP, as it has yet to introduce this feature where it will recognize it on it's own.

Ah yep, forgot to mention it, I tried capitalizing the "i" in CSP, buuuut... nothing happened the one in the example technically is capitalized

Here:

The first one is capitalized, the second one isn't. Aaaand... no difference -___-

Unfortunately CLIP doesn't support the features of these kinds of open type fonts that allow you to use variants of the same letters.

It's one of my biggest peeves with the program and most specifically what I'm complaining about when I say "I really wish CSP would update it's text features."

D'aaaw, noes ;__; I was hoping there would be some hidden feature I missed to get the alternate uppercase to show up, lol. Well, at least I guess now I know that it's a software issue, though. Thanks for the info! And yep, let's hope they fix this, it's really unfortunate

Hm.
I've never had that issue. I use Blambot comic fonts all the time (especially Kid Kosmic) and I have no problem with the alternate caps. (On CSP)

Maybe try uninstalling the font and reinstalling it? Or find an equivalent from Blambot?

Yep, Blambot fonts do work! I guess the difference is that with Blambot ones you can manually insert alternate uppercase letters (by pressing Shift/having Caps Lock on), but apparently with Comicraft fonts the alternate uppercase thing is automatic... so it won't work in programs that do not support it ;__; still, might try uninstalling and reinstalling the font and see if anything changes

Did you give "Anime Ace" font a shot?

Yep, it's the one I use for the Tapas version of my comic!

But for the Webtoon version I'm using Meanwhile. I've been using Photoshop to do most of the Webtoon cropping as well as the lettering, but I still rely on CSP to create my balloons and constantly switching between the two programs is kind of a pain in the butt... hence why I was hoping to find a way to use alternate uppercase in CSP, lol might consider going back to Anime Ace for the Webtoon version... or maybe learning how to make balloons in PS XD
