Hello, everyone! My name is Rinari and I'm completely new here! Like, new new. I'm still figuring everything out on the website and the mobile app, but one thing that seems clear is that the community here seems really lovely! So I thought I'd introduce myself! smile

I'm mainly a fiction writer by trade and have published a few short stories. I love, love, love speculative fiction and fantasy, and primarily write and read in those two genres! I also love video games, sushi, and dogs. Sorry if that sounds like the start of a dating profile??

I'm starting a fantasy manga on here (Haven + Hael22) which is currently still in its nascent stages. I would love it if anyone could give me any other fantasy comic recommendations, because, again, that's what I love to read and write! I typically enjoy high fantasy (LOTR-type set in another world) over low fantasy (Harry Potter-type set in our world), but I'm open to anything! If you have any fantasy comics that you really love, please let me know. smiley Thanks!

@Kaykedrawsthings beat me to the Silversong rec!

A couple others:
Suihira1 - a stubborn princess on a divine quest
Serpents of Old2 - the grandson of a hero caught in conspiracy

I really like your art, @rinari! Not sure if you want to keep that glossary there though, as you can't push it to the end of the episodes at a later time (without deleting the episode and just posting it in a new episode). Might scare away some new readers with all the text, even though it's optional?

Thank you for the recommendations, @keii4ii ! 'll check them out now!!!

And thank you, I was really wondering about that glossary! D: I know that it's a lot of text, but I feel like some readers might need it reading forward. DX But I also don't want to have it at the very beginning! Maybe I'll put it at the end of the first chapter? Or should I not have it at all, what do you think?

Thank you! smile And thank you for that recommendation! I'm really liking it so far!

Hey there @rinari and welcome to Tapastic! Your cover art's great and I do really enjoy what you're doing with the glossary lead-in to your comic. The only thing I might suggest is to add more visual elements (concept art, landscapes, etc) behind the text so that it still pops visually to help hold short attention spans. I have a couple suggestions for you in terms of good fantasy comics, too!

I'd be remiss not to suggest my own dark fantasy/horror book, I, NECROMANCER3. It deals with a lot of things, so I'm finding the easiest way to describe it is Breaking Bad meets Dungeons and Dragons.

Also, for more light-hearted fantasy and great illustration, I'd definitely suggest checking out @AdventuresOfToad's comic ... THE ADVENTURES OF TOAD1. It has a sort of Lethal Weapon meets Masters of the Universe vibe, fun, action-packed, adventurous.

Finally, and I know that you suggested high fantasy vs low fantasy, but I really do always think @dglisson's BEAST BAIT is worth checking out. It's set in modern times, but it's come some crazy out there fantasy ideas (monstrous plants that eat entire cities, giant spiders that could be straight out of LOTR) with some really compelling lead characters.

Best of luck and I'm looking forward to checking out your story as it releases. : )

Instant subs because the art is gorgeous and I'm a sucker for fantasy series TT_TT
Some fantasy story I have on my reading list are:
DaiMaou2 (The comedy in it is gold haha can't wait for the next chapter tho wheeze)
Dragon Hunt (It's high fantasy and if you are okay with BL wink wink)
Kings Folly definitely
Or maybe you can also check mine out: :Rebirth1 : P (It's a low-fantasy type I believe with magic and zombies set in modern timeline)

I second this one! Silversong is one of my favorites on Tapastic!

I'm also the co creator of a fantasy called Goblins of Razard2. It's about a young man named Reign, who is chased out of his home by his older brother, attacked by Goblins, sold to a rogue with a mysterious power, attacked by one monster after another, and has a whole slew of mysterious attacks against him. It's a high adventure with magic, wizards, assassins, bisontaurs, goblins, and a talking crow!

Hello, welcome! Your cover is amazing and the story sounds super interesting already. I'm pouring through that glossary, haha^^ Here's just a little handful of really nice fantasy comics on here that I think you might enjoy.

@novasiri's Aether Eternius (unique art style and exciting world structure)
@efdvorsky's Cosmic Fish1 (stunning environments, incredible character designs)
@dracoplato's Zenchav (beyond gorgeous art and brilliant character dynamics)
@ORANGEuGLAD's Celestial Wheel (enthralling story, stellar art)

Thank you so much for the recommendations, suggestions, and feedback, everyone! sunny This is rich list to pour through and I'm loving it!

@donathinfrye I'm in love with I, NECROMANCER so far! Amazing work smile I'll be checking out the other ones you recommended momentarily. Thank you so much for your sub, suggestions and feedback! thumbsup

Thanks for the sub, @69Erocento ! I LOVE your art style and I'm already intrigued :3!!! This kind of story is right up my alley!

@sarrowsmith10 Goblins of Razard is GORGEOUS!!! Exactly what I imagine when I think of high fantasy~ Have you ever played the mobile visual novel "Sorcery," by the way?

@phenylketonurics Thank you so much! ^v^!! I hope the glossary isn't too overwhelming, haha! And thank you for the great recs, checking them out now! <3

Oh dang, that art is gorgeous! I'm definitely bookmarking to check out once you have more pages!! : D

As for fantasy comics, here's a few that haven't already been mentioned!
Kitsune Sho
EXtinction
Cosmic Fish

And it's not as "magical" fantasy, but I'll just throw my own in as well if you don't mind!
City of Blank

Hope there's something here for you to enjoy!

i haven't seen anyone mention it so i suggest of stars profaned, which is a bit of an industrial-medieval fantasy story that i'm really into so far.

and of COURSE, i'm gonna be shameless and plug my own, black prism. it's probably more low/urban fantasy or horror, but i definitely consider it speculative fiction!

your art looks really sweet, so godspeed on the new series!

The end of the first chapter sounds reasonable! Looking forward to seeing what the story is all about~

Hi there Rinari and welcome to Tap! I checked out your comic Haven + Hael and woow, that looks promising! I subscribed right away, I love how the two characters look and just the bad ass aura they give off! I can't wait to see it take flight!

I am also a lover of fantasy comics and write one myself! It's called Cosmos Song, feel free to check it out if you're interested :3!

welcome! I'm sure you'll love it here! and I love fantasy comics as well,
I love these comic: pretty good reads that weren't yet mentioned.
https://tapastic.com/series/City-of-Blank1 (was actually already mentioned oops)
https://tapastic.com/series/daniel
https://tapastic.com/series/Dont-Be-A-Hero
https://tapastic.com/series/Centralia20501

there was another I read a while ago, but I think they might have deleted it from the site. frowning but it was really well done too.

I draw a few myself but I don't know if they are really something you would read, the genre is fantasy, but it's also boys love comic, it's in the link on my profile, if you want to check it out. but other then that the ones I listed are very enjoyable.

btw that cover is beautiful! I love the detail you put into it, the colors and the poses. characters too love the whole image really! beautiful!!
