my best guess on finding info about that nowadays would be exploring this page
as for personal opinion i think it helps to also consider the kinds of things they'd look for to promote as a staff pick which this thread covered some time ago
https://forums.tapas.io/t/tapas-insider-how-we-curate-the-staff-picks-section/44040
and then seeing how to bring your work to meet those kinds of standards.
i am aware that since the kakao acquisition there's been a lot of translated works seeming to dominate the front page but it's important to understand that a part of it is tapas' need to fund itself as it will always be a business first. so if those kinds of comics/novels are whats making them money that's what they're going to push first.
luckily thats not where it ends since tapas does still engage with its community creators and try to present folks with opportunities for growth whether that's contests, their giving events like inksgiving, spotlights and in those rare cases publishing deals. The big thing tho like i mentioned above is knowing what will get their attention which beyond just numbers is good quality work whether that's writing, art or both.
So I would say to consider looking into other Tapas originals or premium comics and try to see what they did well or what would've gotten staffs eye to see where you can improve your own work. At the end of the day a lot of people got lucky but they also put in the work so knowing what's most effective and efficient for you will be important to learn. I'll add that most of what I know is based on pretty old activity than however things are running on the main site these days but these are pretty base pieces of advice that can help in the long run if applied right. All said best of luck
