I'm getting slammed by a summer heat wave, and would love to hear people's favorite dishes for hot summer days.
My personal fav would be tofu fresh rolls. Cold, delicious, and easy on the stomach.
Chicken salad, but it has to be made with one specific recipe. Otherwise it just doesn't taste right.
WATERMELON!! The BEST of all summer foods! And my favorite fruit of all time.
I live in AZ now since I got used to the heat I've become a typical American with bbq on hot days. But when I lived in MA my Nonnie would always make BLTs and coleslaw during hot days
Caprese salad! Base ingredients are tomatoes, mozzarella and a good olive oil if you can find them. Oregan is a nice addition. People use also fresh basil leaves but I don't like the taste
Cheese plates! No cooking, very filling!
Oooo yes to the Tapas above. And I second Watermelon.
Italian lemon sorbet
Anyone got ideas for hot weather breakfastes?
Greek yogurt with maple syrup on top! I add it because I don't like the acidity of the yogurt and they combine well. You can also add pieces of fresh fruit (I love peaches in it) and muesli
