How bad is the X-mas advertising in your area?

right after halloween, but thats normal here since we dont celebrate Thanksgiving in November and the snow hits the ground not long after halloween XD

Same as Bobbyjoe, after Halloween immediately all the seasonal items switched lol. Idm it personally, though I really miss Christmas in Australia. We'd have barbecues and go to a park/ beach or something. And I miss when my budgies pretended to be tree ornaments. ;-;

Christmas sections in some stores went up the same time as Halloween sections here and are still running strong. Haven't seen many Christmas ads on television yet though, which is odd!

Anyway, I don't mind at all. I always think of Christmas as a positive thing. Still the best time of the year to me, even if it's lost some of the childhood magic. I'm actually.. .wearing a Christmas sweater right now. It's just...super comfy.

The commercials and stores have been going full force since the end of Halloween. I think the commercial that really makes me cringe is the Home Depot commercial where the family caves in & buys an inflatable CHRISTMAS DRAGON to please their kid(Christmas Dragon? I'm checkin out...). I find it amazing and appalling as f**k that commercialism is being pushed to the max- but folks wages cant even afford it; we'll go into the new year broke and in debt.

Starts around early October around here in the South East US. Thanksgiving isn't really mentioned as much around here as much as Black Friday. It hits full swing around Halloween day. It's all about commercialism and in my area with a metric ton of lower class people who blow all their paychecks on Christmas, it just adds insult to injury. To be honest TV's also a living hell this time of year as well, seeing as everyone plays the same damn Christmas special and then you're forced to watch Lifetime or Hallmark Christmas movies with the family but that's neither here nor there.

I'm not exaggerating I started seeing X-mas stuff since September. We have our independence holidays on September 16th, right after that celebration was over some malls put winter decorations and some Christmas stuff!! They put some stuff for Halloween but it lasted weeks.

It's not terrible yet but I expect all hell to break loose come Thanksgiving.
But what really shocked me was a car already had a tree on its roof when my husband and I were out Sunday. It's like, WHERE did he even get that yet?
