I've been lucky to not have the flu in a long, long time-- if I get sick, it's typically a cold. BUT, when I get a cold, there's a very high likelihood that it will turn into bronchitis... and that's 2 weeks of coughing, sleepless, rib-splittingly painful hell. I've been prone to bronchitis ever since I was a kid, so it's an unfortunate part of life that I'm low-key afraid will one day dissolve my lungs. As a result, I have a very violent-sounding cough that is alarming to people >>;;
I had a kidney stone in high school, which is apparently equivalent or worse than the pain of childbirth? I'll never know, but I'd believe it because when I wasn't on painkillers I wanted to die from the terrible pain. The kind of pain where you're just incoherent and vomitting. Stay hydrated folks! :v
