How big should I make my comic?

I am creating a vertical scroll comic, but I don't know how big I should make the canvas relative to the finished photo. Should I make my canvas twice as big as the photo?

Let's say, for example, the finished photo will be 800 x 1280. Should then I make it 1600 x 2560?

You certainly can. Just understand that either way, you have to downsize the final image to 800px width.

i draw my pages three times as big and then resize to fit the tapas page

the bigger you can work, the better - downsizing will always be easier than upsizing. i couldnt tell you the pixel size of my pages off the top of my head, i just know i work in A4 with a 300 dpi resolution. personally, i wouldnt wanna go much smaller than that for a comic page, but thats down to the brushes i use and the size of my drawings.

The thing about an infinite canvas is that you can change its size as you feel you need to​

I usually start with 2000 x 10000 and just change the length as I need to.
