How can I get subscribers and views?

Hey guys! Prncss Pscs here and I just started a comic on line for a few months now. I just published the first few 23 episodes on tapas but they rest will take me sometime to upload because of work.

But I was wondering how do I get subscribers or more views to my story? I have been promoting but honestly I'm bad at it. I wanted to make a youtube video about my toon and again I'm bad at it and I don't really have an idea how to do so.

If anyone would be kind enough to give me some tips or suggestions, I am OPEN!

Title: Forever With You (title still thinking of changing it)
Nana meets Gin on top of the school rooftop where they immediately bond with one another. After months of getting to know each other feelings start to grow. But only if they can survive their dark pasts can they truly fall in love. Will they overcome it? Follow them on a journey through self-discovery and new outlooks of life.

It's coming of age story, with some cheesy romance thrown in if you like romance. I was inspired by a K-drama I was watching and decided to make one of my own.

Hate to say it, but patience helps a ton. Also supporting other creators is a key to being recognized, whether it's something as simple as subscribing to others work and acknowledging it or being active in the forums outside of advertising. I don't really know what you're expecting as far as a set amount of subscribers or views, but the best thing I can say is keep working on what you like working on, and grow and keep on improving on it.

One thing you may want to be mindful of is organization and consistency in presentation. The first thing I noticed upon clicking on your link there (the tapas one anyways) was that the episode list is out of order right out the gate, Episode 2 is presented before Episode 1. Further, most of the time you label them "Ep. #" but Episode 14 is randomly called "Round 14" instead, and Episode 16 is the only one not labeled with a prefix or episode number. I had to click it just to see if you skipped episode 16 or if it was indeed episode 16... it seems to be episode 16 just w/o a number.

Not that these types of things are necessarily costing you subs and views, but first impressions do have some sort of impact xD;; At the very least I would go in and swap Ep 1 and 2 around so that people start on the right page

I'm not really expecting much and I do support other creators as well. 'M not really into commissions or anything like that. I just want to know if people are enjoying or reading my comic. I know that there is still so much I have to improve on and I'm slowly getting better with time. I kind of like the idea that people are reading and liking it rather then getting money for it. Although it would be nice that's not really what I want for now.

That might've been when I had trouble uploading on my computer! I did upload the first episode first and when I uploaded the next one it appeared like that. BTW, l labeled them like that because when uploaded episode 14, there wasn't enough pages to upload so I had to break it in parts. But episode 16 is actually episode 16 and so on. But I will change it

“Supporting other creators” doesn’t mean with money.

What you want is attention- and honestly that’s what everyone wants! A huge portion of tapas is creators, and the best way to get those people to recognize you is to.. befriend them.
Be active here in the forums (not just on self promo threads), join the discord groups, read like & comment on people’s comics, search out the indie comics, not just the big ones!

About the episodes, yeah, I was going to read your comic and then almost immidiately left because of the ‘Ep count’ mishap, and then I realized I’m reading it for this so I went back. But... You can go back and edit- do that. It’s not just confusing but it also shows me as a ‘reader’ you don’t care enough about the comic to organize it, and if you don’t care about your comic why should I?

Get a better drawing program.
Your comic right now really looks like it was drawn is mspaint. I can’t say for sure but... I’m pretty confident about this. Art programs exist for a reason! They’ll make your life so much easier (especially if you’re using a tablet, but even for artists who use a mouse). There’s great free programs all around; Medibang, Krita, etc.
Take the time to learn a program and I promise it’ll help you out so much. (Watch speedpaints, read tutorials, etc)

and finally: improve yourself
This applies to every story, let’s be honest, but it’s worth mentioning. Every comic is written and drawn differently but storytelling and art are crafts that we never stop improving. And the better you do them, the more people will notice your results. Look into those topics, actively try to improve your art and script, look at your favourite comics and think ‘what do they have that I dont?’ and strive to get there.

I understand what you're saying and I don't mean with money. I support and share their work as well. About being active; I'm trying considering that I have to balance my time with work.

I tried thousands of drawing programs but none of them are the right fit for now. I use Ibis paint x or autodesk for them time being.

I'm considering using clip studio and manga studio as well but I don't know if it's a good program yet.

Thank you for all of your comments, I'm always down for improving my art. I'm still in process of editing the first couple of episodes but honestly it isn't my best. I just wanted to see how it would look on digital vs paper.

Compared to how I use to draw and from 10 years ago; I say that I've gotten a lot better but with time I'm sure that I'll get even better.

I just have to work harder!

For sure, be consistent
Tell your viewers the days you post and DELIVER. People will come check your story on those day you say you'll update, and when you do, you build trust.

Keep at it, it will take time

Can confirm that CSP is an amazing program. It has a lot of perks such as perspective rulers so your lines will always go straight to the vanishing point and 3D models so if you're having trouble with a pose or body proportions, you can use it to help you (though it takes a bit to get used to how it works exactly since you have to pose the 3D model if you don't use one of the presets). There are also lots of great assets such as comic tones and brushes. The program regularly goes on sale so you can get the Pro version for a good price and have it forever!
