Well - you can always do "master studies" which most pepole think of as trying to recreate the mona lisa or whatever, but really it's just actively trying to reproduce a piece of work by someone else you admire. Back when I was first starting out I did a lot of master studies of Noelle Stevenson's work to try and figure out how it clicked.
I would point out tho - that only doing master studies of one person's work will make your stuff seem really derivative, because it is, so you should also be doing life studies and experimenting with your own style at the same time.
Learning how to art good is a long and complicated process without many clear answers on what to do- but thats the fun part so good luck :V
