How did unlocking Ad Revenue affect your series?

Hi everyone! I’m currently at 62 subscribers, and honestly—it feels like a dream. I’m genuinely overwhelmed that people are naturally subscribing to my book.

I noticed that once you hit 100 subscribers, you unlock ad revenue. For those of you who’ve reached that point, I was wondering:

• Did you notice any changes after enabling ad revenue?

• Was there any increase or decrease in subscribers?

• Did it affect your existing readers in any way?

I really love the idea of earning a little something from my writing (even if it's just pennies!), but this is, first and foremost, a passion project. I’ve been working on this story since I was 16—I’m 37 now—and it’s always been something I’ve wanted to complete.

My long-term dream is to finish the series, then pursue a proper editor and self-publish.

Would love to hear your experiences with ad revenue—good or bad!

Didn't affect it in any way.

Lol you might get a cent or two once a year.
It doesn't realistically do anything unless you have tens of thousands of subscribers.

Reaching 100 subscribers is very exciting and an important early milestone.
But don't expect to make income from it unless you have tens of thousands of subscribers.

I think really that's the most important. Sure it's pennies (but its your pennies) but this is just one check box in your "writers plan". So check to "being noticed" now onto "being recognized" congrats on the start to your journey!

It hasn't affected much. I'll let you know if it ever amounts to anything. It is definitely pennies at most. I've made $0.57 from ads over the past year. At that rate, I might be able to withdraw it in ~43 years.

Donations and my three loyal Patreon followers do help me feel inspired to keep moving forward, though. It means a lot that there are people willing to pay to read my little webcomic.

Haha now now, don't be spending it all in one place. I'm glad the ads don't annoy readers, I think that was what I was most worried about. So if and when I get to 100, I shall pop it on and keep going on as if I wasn't getting any pennies! Hahaha!
