How did you celebrate the aniversary of your comic/novel?

Hi everyone, so the first aniversary of my comic is getting close and i have no idea what would i like to do about it. How did you celebrate your aniversary or do you have any ideas for ways to celebrate this milestone?

I've made special artwork for different milestones and have also done Q&A's to thank my readers. You can also ask for guest art. It's always fun to see other artist's renditions of your characters and readers seem to like it, too.

@ryoko some people did amazing art based on my Oc`s here in the forums, i will ask them if they are okay with me sharing it and crediting them of course.

@spicy_sweets that`s an awesome idea!, saving it for the day i have more than one comic (not soon because of college, but maybe someday)

@Kura the last thing i published was a Q&A , so i will go with something different.

@aqua03 @stnmaren @Shanny8 If i get an idea for some artwork i will go for it.

My comic's anniversary isn't until October, but I already have a plan for it. The art has really changed since I started, so I'm planning to re-do the first strip as a 'looking at the past through rose tinted glasses' kind of thing.

As for milestones in general, when I hit 50 strips I got my co-writer to draw it (I'm usually the one who does all the art). It turned out great and I also got a week off.

My comic anniversary is in July and I keep forgetting it because I take summer vacation, so the last two times I have done Q&As, it's running right now!! (maybe giving a whole month to questions is too much? What do others give as a deadline?)

Here it is MissMagicGirl. The name is Rocky the rock. Is a comedy about a rock saving the world from the forces of evil.......An actual inanimate rock.

one author (Kique/Johaan Nordic, author of Home/Asmundr on Smackjeeves) have been doing something quite cool and funny (and informative) for almost each of his anniversaries:

make a tally of different things that happened in the story, and present them in a funny or meme-like manner
such as: number of times [character name] cursed, number of times characters broke in tears, number of times the jokes flew over [name]'s head. number of times [name] lied. number of times [name] won/lost a fight, ...etc.

and then added a section of little hidden details or easter eggs that we may have potentially missed.

then some "bloopers". reuse some panels and edit the text to make something silly out of it.

@DiegoPalacios . . . to reward my subs I did a merch line for charity . . . which was eh, other than my close friends/fam no one really bought it. i don't think i had enough subs yet to do something of that scale and I got ahead of myself. it wasn't an anniversary per se, more like a sub goal.

Every year I think "maybe I'll draw something for it!" and every year I forget and belatedly go "oH MAN YOU GUYS TWO MONTHS AGO THE COMIC TURNED 5 YEARS OLD!!!"
