How do I make an announcement to my readers?

Hi. I just joined Tapastic a few days ago. I'd like to make a broad announcement to everyone about the update status of my comic. How do I do this? I see creators posting to their own walls about stuff. Do your subscribers actually see these as notifications?

Yes. Subscribers get a notification that you posted on your wall. It's a good way to communicate with your subscribers.

(Just fyi, as a reader, I don't like getting multiple posts from the same creator in a single day. Anymore than 2 times a week is too much for me. I've unsubscribed because I was tired of my notification box getting filled up.)

I would use it sparingly, only when you have something important to say. That's my 2 cent.

The reason you listed is a good use of the notification, but in general, it's not something to use everyday if you can avoid it.

I agree. If you do want to let your subscribers know about something, you could also let them know via webcomic episode as well.

Well, about every other month I decide to update my comic twice a week instead of once. Is that something important to notify readers for, or does it not really matter?

Updating the comic is a bit different. When you update an episode, there's a button you can press that says "send notification." I think that's fine, even twice a week.

What I was saying earlier is more about posting on your wall, which I think should only be saved for big updates like "thanks for 100/500/1000 views" or "I'm adding a new series! Check it out!"

Actually there is a policy against non comic episodes in series so avoid doing this.
