How Do People Find Out They Are Trending?

Like, are you constantly checking? wtf? Idk, I'm just wondering because it just feels like a hassle to have to check every however-much-time to see if you're trending.

You just need to look and look and look.
Your chances of trending are highest on the day you update.

LostMyth trended for a couple of times for like seconds after posting new episodes. Thats it, no notification xD

There's no notification :/ but I keep the front page open in case I need to do anything or to check notifications so I usually see the trending section update every now and then.

I only know my series happens to be there I spot my icon on the front page when load the website, or when a reader points it out to me. There's no notification for either trending or popular.

Not sure about the others sections.

I found out after I had a major increase in watchers...it sort of confused me seeing how its the series I usually don't advertise.

But then I saw my series on the trending and went "Oooooooh, now it makes sense."

When I first posted my comic I was pretty much constantly checking to see if I was on trending or popular, but now, since I've noticed it purely by accident a few times.. I don't really care as much anymore?
At this point when I update I generally assume I ended up high on one of those lists at some point of the day.
Last time a friend of mine alerted me that I was on the front page, which was very nice of her! It's cool knowing, but I don't really obsess over it anymore..
I really wish being on the front page got more subs than it does. There's been times I've been on the front page most of the day but not gained any subscribers.

I use the desktop version of Tapastic, and have the front page as my bookmark out of habit - so whenever I want to check something on Tapastic (dashboard, notifications, whatever), I click the bookmark and end up on the front page. While I'm there, I usually scroll down to see if there are any interesting comics on the front page.

Occasionally, I've found my own comic in Trending.

I'm sure it's been there a few times without me noticing though. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to it? I mean, it's nice to know, and fun, but I can't really do anything with it. It happens when it happens, and goes away when it goes away. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

On a somewhat related note, you can set up a Google Alert to email you when someone somewhere is talking about you, your comic, or any topic you're interested in. Enter keywords just as you would in a search. Put quotes around any phrases that should appear just like you typed it.

@apurviance OH SAY WHAT! That's really interesting! I might try this out with some other stuff, not my comic, lmao... gotta keep track of all my evil exes.

@AnnaLandin yeah I kind of figured it wouldn't be too hard to get on trending... people have gotten on it after they talk about their comic here to get reviews and what not lol. I guess the hard club to get into would be the "Popular" tab since those comics need to have a more constant stream of interaction.

I only found out randomly when looking for new comics to read.
It would be nice to get a little notification though!
