How do you find new comics on Tapastic?

Hi, everyone! I'm curious, how do you find new comics on Tapasic? Do you check FRESH series in DISCOVER MORE section? What attracts your attention? What makes you interested in trying to read a comic? I'm new here, and I'd like to know your opinion!

I find the best way to find new comics that are actually trending and not just one-off posts (and, well, something I might actually want to read and won't just close without a second glance) is the Staff Picks, Trending, and Popular section. I'm always finding new comics to read there and it's a good balanced system IMO that you see comics that have been around for a while, but also comics that are just starting out. The daily Comics Feed is also a good way to find new strips. And of course, Fresh works too if you don't mind digging through new updates from regular comics and stuff.

Forums is the best place for me, then I know the author is somewhat active in trying to promote their comic. Some times I'll browse the fresh section and see what catches my eye.

Thank you for feedback! I found most of the comics I enjoy through forum, or just accidentally found out that some of my favorite artists from DA are publishing their comics here. I really enjoyed Feed on Inkblazers, because it included all activity.

Same here, I found most of the comics I read through Forums. I like talking to people and often check comic of people who I talk to on Forums.

I love the fresh section, it helps me to find new webcomics...
The thumbnail is the first thing I would llok at, obivously. Then it's the synopsis and the style. (sometimes, there is a beautiful thumbnail and a less beautiful style inside, so... I just... take a look.)
And the forums too! I love the topics like "present your new page" or "comic under xxx subscribers". Some are really great!

@getsuart Agree, sometimes the cover looks beautiful but the style is a kind of different. P.s. I still can't write a synopsis, waiting for a tutorial in Creator's Guide.

I like to check out the fresh section on the home page and other creators' reading lists. I generally don't rely on the trending or staff picks sections because there is a pretty overwhelming preference for manga/anime style and cutesy funny stuff among both the readers and staff and I'm into more serious action and western style art. I also check out a lot of stuff I see on the forum.

Same here, even though I like anime and manga, trending doesn't really work for me. I also prefer action and a nice story. Art style is not that important to me.

What usually works for me is:

• The Fresh Section. If I have the time sift through and see what sticks to me. I usually zone in on series if I like the cover. Same method with popular and trending sections
• Staff picks are a must check.
• Whatever I like in the Daily Snack.
• But the method I enjoy the most, and so far has been very effective, is going to others reading list and treating it like a reccomended list.
• Also thank you notes to others work for me.

• The Trending section
• I'm also doing a critique thread, and have found some very good ones there, too.
• I've found some good comics while participating in #webcomicchat and #comictalk chats on Twitter.
• If I come across a very insightful comment, either on my comic or someone else's, I will check to see if the commenter has a comic. If they do, I will check it out. I might not end up following it, but I will give it a chance.

I rarely find anything to read in the Popular section because they're almost all gag a day/ BL, and I'm not too interested in those.

I usually check the trending/popular/staff picks sections to see if there's anything I haven't seen yet.

The forums have also lead me to some cool comics!

@fishscribbles Yep, using reading lists as recommended list is a great idea, especially if you trust a taste of a person whose list you check!

I look at the comics section in menu above. I mostly ignore whats on the frontpage since those get more then enough attention, unless I really like the comic. But mostly try to support the new comics

The forums seem to be the place to go for me. I love them because I find comics that just started out and already show so much potential.

When I first came to Tapastic I also really liked the Staff Picks, but lately there are only very few comics on that list that I am interested in. (But don't tell Michael that D:) I think I have become very picky with what I want to read over time.

I usually find myself looking in the "Fresh" section under Comics.... sometimes there's a hidden gem to be found there!
