How do you fuel your creativity?

WITH FIRE.

Okay, but really, pretty much anything can help my inspiration - movies, music, video games, art, comics, life, photos, people, books, history, mythology, ect. ect. XD I guess movies especially as I've always just been a movie lady.

I guess with Daniel it'd be 1930s music, Great Depression era history, vintage film/photos, scary vampire media of any sort, vampire folklore history, and...going to an antique shop. XP

It can come a bit from anywhere, but a sure-fire way to trigger visual images for me is to find some nice music and just listen and let my brain do the windows media player thing - randomly generate images based on the music. What comes out depends entirely on the music. Symphonic metal usually gives me epic battles or grand fates, while the synthpop/new wave/Ihonestlydon'tknow playlist I have running from spotify right now gave me ideas for some more abstract ESP pieces.

I watch a lot of anime, I read a lot of manga, and I listen to a lot of music. I think about it all the time, and when I get a good thought, I write it down. Eventually it amalgamates into a chapter!

I read a lot of comics. Love IMAGE, Marvel, etc. I watch a lot of TV and movies on Netflix/Hulu etc. And I just keep taking notes whenver I have an idea. Sometimes you need to get through all the terrible ideas to get to the one BRILLIANT idea. So keep working and you're bound to succeed if you work your butt off!

I can't entirely recall what inspired me to create my comic, (it was a while ago), but as for coming up with new ideas to continue it, I just keep my ears open. Sometimes, simply hearing someone say something will get my mind working, and before I know it, I'm telling myself, "Hey, that was an interesting question/statement/command/etc. I'll bet I can write something humorous around that!"
There are countless ways to be inspired, but for me, nothing beats listening (no, not eavesdropping!).

My main inspiration for creating a comic is imagination. May be it is more than an imagination. I live in the story which I create so I see them. One thing I should say, may be most of you will reject this, That is I don;t get other art styles to my mind, I did that in past, but then my creativity gone. I believe that drawing can't get learn as an other subject. It is inside you. Do your own way. May be it is seems not good at first. But for sure your own style will come out. That is what take you to the top. My second inspiration is music. Not loud music. So here it is.

Oh, Uhm, kinda Everything? I can get inspired by watching movies, reading books/other comics and most mediums. I get especially pumped sometimes when I listen to music. My brain then does this kind of visualization or something and cooks up a scene or vignette or something in my head. Some other people also mentioned through interaction with actual people and that's true for me too. Talking to people and hearing about the real-life experiences if others is a powerful thing.

I fuel my creativity by chugging a litre of gasoline everyday. Then my brain runs like an engine.

Usually I get inspired by experiences in my life and/or music. For example my comic is inspired by fairy lore. It was actually my boyfriend who are super into pnp roleplaying who kept telling me about World of Darkness' system Changeling - the Lost. He told me that fairies only have one tought: Wouldn't it be fun if... (insert horrible thing here). That got me and a friend to joke about with all kinds of scenarioes, and we ended with: Wouldn't it be fun if a fairy kidnapped a twin and replaced it with a doll, and the other twin would be the only one to know the difference? That thought then got stuck in my head and after 2-3 years a story developed.

Another story I am still working on was my brother and I playing when we were children (I was maybe 10 at this point, he was 14). He came up with the idea of hybrid humans and animals, and I loved them. I asked if the character I played could fall in love with a human, and he blatantly said no, which angered we greatly. Then I basically said: "Fuck you, I'm going to make my own world, with blackjack and hookers!" Aaaand I'm now building a universe. He is too. They are very different ^^

So basically my inspiration is a conversation, and then me thinking huh, this is interesting... Wonder what I can do with that... And off I go.

• I see something amusing and/or amazing. I think "I wanna do
  something like that."
• Something (important or frivolous) drives me crazy and I deal with it by goofing on it.

• "What if...?" and "Wouldn't it be funny if...?" thinking.
• While my cartoon is digital, I keep an idea notebook where I sketch, and write what might happen. It's "only" a cheap lined notebook and ballpoint pen, so there's no pressure about "ruining" art supplies with "bad" art/writing. I try to emulate myself as a kid when drawing and telling stories was just for fun. Then I can go back and mine the material for ideas.
• Exercise (even walking around) seems to keep ideas flowing.
