My advice is: Keep trying. Maybe you didn't catch people's notice this time, that's okay. I've seen even pros make pieces or even entire works that were flops, even ones they thought were sure-fire hits.
When I make something and the reaction by people is "...eh.", first I cry it out, then I go and look for how I could improve. Read a bunch of books, watch videos, dig up tutorials, think about what I could do better, and then I try again. Usually something good comes along if I just keep giving it my all, listening to good advice from people with my best interests at heart and trying new things.
