How do you navigate tapas comics?!

I JUST wanted to look at a certain page in a certain Tapas comic for inspiration, and just out of curiosity I clicked that button that sends you to the first page, since I'd never actually seen the comic when it started out.

Well, after I read the very first chapter and had my fun, I wanted to scroll back to the latest page...only to find that I could NOT. There IS NO 'latest page' button, and the comic is over 200 pages at this point, so the scroll bar is nothing but a tiny semi-useless dot!

Worse yet, whenever I click on the comic link, Tapas sends me right back to where I left off: stuck in the middle of the comic! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO

the only thing i can think to suggest is to use the "jump to next episode" button (the arrow near the bottom) until you've reached the latest page.

one shortcut i've used since i use mobile and desktop is to go to the latest update on mobile and usually that puts it back on the desktop version (key word is usually though)

(my original idea does not work at all so i deleted it)

in the same vein as vibrantfox, you could repeatedly hit the "end" key on your keyboard, which will jump you to the bottom of each episode

So...you're telling me there is actually no way to go about this other than to manually turn the page 200 times. Cool. =_=

What I don't understand is how anyone thought that was a good idea?? I mean, comics are art! Why shouldn't we be free to skip around to different parts to look at pages we liked?! Every other comic hosting website seems to understand that that might be a thing that a reader would want to do! Even Webtoon has an archive!

I'm going to try waiting for the next update (they do 3 pages a week, so it shouldn't be too long). Hopefully then the link will take me to the most recent page...

i think that convenience has definitley been kept to mobile by going to the episode list for a series because people on mobile will not be patient about that kind of thing (some of the apps reviews are a perfect gauge for some of the user-bases attitude)

you could try to navigate the episode list to the left side of the page but being able to successfully reach the latest episode depends on the length of a page tbqh

it could always be suggested or recommended to the staff that people would be interested in an archive/latest update kind of button navigation for desktop but it depends on what that means for staff to code and put something like that together and what it means for creators as they adapt to what that kind of format change would look like. surface wise: yes it'd make navigating tapas comics easier but the cons still have to be weighed and observed

I don't think it would be too difficult to create archives for this site...I mean, the infrastructure is already there: every author has a personal archive of each of their series. All they would have to do is make a version of it that was publicly accessible and un-editable, and then add a button to the user interface.

I'm not a computer science person by any means, but that doesn't sound like a lot of work....
