How does everyone feel about "Thank you" posts on walls?

Hi !

I've seen several artists and writers post on their subscriber's walls to thank them for subbing.

How does everyone feel about it?

I think it's charming, but I didn't want to clutter my subscribers' wall. I have very low self-esteem, and I always worry about being a bother to others (I worry about this thread potentially offending other artists and writers!)

My novel has pictures, and I wanted to have a very small "thank you!" drawing made with the characters that will not be in the story, so it'll strictly be created for subscribers.

My story is wholesome; the "thank you" art wouldn't be anything NSFW or offensive.

Most readers read through the app and won't get a notification or see their wall anyway. So nowadays it's best just to post a thank you image in your series' episode where they're sure to see it.

I'm personally not fan of them. I like to keep my subscriptions private, and getting a message that anyone can see completely spoils that. This is the main I reason I opted not to make them myself, as I have wondered about it before.

If it is about mature content, BL, GL, or something cheeky... I do not wish to receive thankyou note to my wall actually. Sometimes, i do wish to keep it low profile while reading cheeky novels/comics. So...

But I don't really mind when i receive thank you note on subscribing. Don't really care much about that. It did help some readers of my work discover those other works that I've been reading. That's something good on the browser version of Tapas.

Like the Tapas officials said, mobile app readers won't get notified. That is the only disadvantages. So don't focus time on design and making that thankyou art.

That's a good point about your readers discovering new work though, I've never thought about it that way.

Yay! I wasn't sure how to interact unless they comment >.< the "note" section in each chapter seems like a good place for it, but I didn't know if it took away from the immersion?

Use the "@" sign in front of user names and you can tag them like this

@JoblessInUSA then respond to each.

I think there's a little potential for public wall posts to be awkward so although I don't personally mind receiving them I've decided not to post them. Edit: and hey if you're very optimistic, it's not a thing that you can really do at scale

Like in the episode itself! Then you can have a full illustration right after the main story content.

Hmmm well in the past I did use to post them myself to thank new subs. However I kinda stopped doing them since I felt it was a bit intruding to other people's walls (and also because I kept forgetting it lmao). It is basically advertising your content on their wall one way or another

Yea, I also used to do this but felt it was intrusive. Sometimes I would look to see if they had other "Thank you" notes on their wall and then I will post mine. If they have nothing on their wall, I don’t post. I think @joannekwan suggestion is great! Will do a thank you note in my series for hitting a new milestone....250+ subscribers!

If someone leaves me a message I appreciate it, if they don't that is equally fine. It's just a wall post, and if for some reason it feels like such a big deal, there is also the option to leave it private so no one else can see it

I like getting them, and I think sending them is a nice gesture. Something to show appreciation to readers.

Though if there were any way to send private messages outside of the forum, I'd consider it.

I really just want an excuse to pay my artist to draw a cute group picture ! I don't like commissioning art and then not showing it off to the world!

When writing on someone else's wall, click on the private option to make it private

Well in the beginning it was fun. But after 1000 subs it became a full timejob to keep up with all the thank you so I stoped.

I just do it, but it's probably because I don't have many and I only do it for completely new subscribers and that can just be a few times a month, not so much for repeat, there is the PM option too. If it gets bigger, I might just drop it entirely if I can't keep up.
