How does 'New from the community' work?

Hi

I haven't been on the site that long and I was wondering how does the new from the community section work?

I know this is an odd question but is it selected by Editors or is it like the recent updates section. Is it algorithm based? I'm curious and want to know more. ^^;

It is selected by staff. Usual rules apply, must be generally sfw, have a few episodes out, be of good quality, etc.

Ah ok thank you. Is all of the front page chosen by the staff? I'm on various sites and they all work differently. You seem to have a small Ink thingy in your profile pic what is Cains_Group ?

Yes, all of the front page is curated by staff.

The ink thingy is just to show that I'm a forum moderator.

When I hover my cursor over the ink thingy it says Cains_Group. It's the ink thingy holding what appears to be a type of carrot ^^;

Oh, that I haven't a clue about! The little image was set by ratique. I imagine it has to do something with the engine the forum runs on.

Ahh ok that makes sense. I checked out your profile and I noticed you were on Blue Sky so I clicked follow. It's a nice site so far hopefully it can get out of beta and start growing.

Your Tumblr is set up a bit like how I have my Duck and Comic Fury have the site buttons. People solely use Link.Trees nowadays, i'm glad i'm not the only one that uses that kind of approach.
