How does someone adapt a song into a book or graphic novel?

I want to adapt songs into a book or graphic novel, but I don't know what songs to adapt. Finding the rights is hard. How does someone adapt music into a book?

Some songs are easier to do than others.

For example, it's quite easy to adapt a love song into a story. The feelings are there, so all you have to do is create a plot that follows the feeling. I suppose heavy metal could be adapted into horror or action. It really all depends on the lyrics and feelings, in my opinion.

What song were you planning to use? I might be able to help a bit more if I knew what song it was, lol.

Pop songs in general are kind of vague, but what I've noticed is that most reference love in their lyrics, so maybe that'd be like a side plot? And then it would be slice of life-ish or depending on the lyrics, it can be interpreted whichever way you want. There's really no right or wrong, go with however you feel, to be honest.

Ok. Do you know any pop artists?

mainstream music is a good example of pop songs, so people like ariana grande, dua lipa, those kinda people

personally, i like little mix, a girl group that resides in the UK

OH, okay. You can just play some music on Youtube or Spotify or something, and search up a pop playlist. I can't guarantee that you'll like the songs, though, today's pop isn't as great as it was before.

hmm, i like rock music since it kinda hypes me up. I suggest listening to Aerosmith, Guns n' Roses, and especially Queen (all hail Freddie Mercury). Rock music can have romance and action as well.

Ok, I had to listen to Muse first, because I'm not that well-versed in this genre~

So I listened to Uprising, and it gives me an Action/Horror vibe. It's giving me chills! I think it would be a good choice, but it's really up to you.

Easiest way I can get is to isolate the lyrics, tone and intent of the song then convert that into a plot then visuals. It's essentially what Pink Floyd did with The Wall
