Everyone appreciates each other even if the dont like their comics as much,why is everyone so nice here????

and why isnt any other site as nice as this one???

I agree, this is without any doubt one of the nicest comminities I´v ever seen, and been on it. I came from other sites with a toxic comunity and bad mods (they love harrass people)

So it turns out, Tapastic is also friendly for files as well. I tried to upload on Line Webtoons, and it hurt me to see that they don't allow PNGs (most of my comics are PNGs) and the file sizes are real small. I really hate to downsize my comic, even though it's already pretty small in the first place. So I gave up on Line Webtoon and just started "mirroring" on Twitter every so often.
Twitter ain't perfect, but it's so much easier than Line Webtoon.

You can't even delete your account on Webtoon. It's like refusing to let you go! And the fact that you can like and dislike a comic is outrageous. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it! Webtoon is completely against that!

Tapas isn't that young anymore, I've been on this forum for almost 3 years now. That's ages on the internet.

Size also doesn't really count, as we grow continually.

Posters just try to behave here. Don't know what went wrong on the other sites.

I registered at Tapastic on May 2014. I was just looking for a new hosting place for my comic Names. I'd post it on SmackJeeves but SJ looked really horrible to me (even now, after some redesigning). The worst part about SJ was that without somehow labeling your comic you wouldn't get the subs!

We did a little experiment with my friend and did only a cover image for a fake "bl" story. As it was rather well drawn, we got many subs (more than 200) in the first day. And then we edited the cover and posted it without the label - none subs and many people unsubscribed.

On Tapastic the nicest thing for me is that readers try to read almost every comic without it being labeled posted here or at least browse through them to see if they like the art etc. I think it's a good way to make a comic and get the readers through hard work cause the community really sees that. Not like on SJ or LineWebtoon where people are just consumers and don't get that making a comic is a really hard work. I'm not saying that every reader on these sites are the same - but the majority of readers are just like someone earlier mentioned - like in the comment section of youtube.

Also we can see that people behind the tapas site are really hard working to make the site even better at every step. I remember that when I first started posting comic here there wasn't any ad revenue program or tips. I must say that I never knew that I could make some money via ads cause I was working on my comic as a hobby! It's a really nice addition and we don't have to fight over being the first place in the rankings etc. We simply earn some money when people do actually read our work. So please disable your ad-blocking programs since the ads on tapastic are really, really small but they mean very much to the creators!

And the forum here is very helpful, I love it that many people use it and actually answer the questions!

tapas is 5-6 years old that's still too young XD most websites that go bad are minimum 8 to 12 years old, and have a community in the millions to 100 millions minimum, tapas is still to new/young for us to say with certainty that it will never go bad

also what went wrong? well knowing that the bad people are usually just a vocal minority (1-10% at most I say) if we put a website population of 1+ million users daily that means it has a bad people population that goes from 10k+ to 100k+ =0 that's pretty big, also take into consideration that this number grows by the thousand daily and the bad people population just keeps growing

websites have bad community cause they have a big community it's a vicious cycle that's been going on since 2010

here's hoping tapas breaks the cycle XD and proves this theory wrong in 3 or 5 years

What's going on is that almost all of us have comics, so we don't want to come into a forum and be outright dicks to each other, even when we disagree. It doesn't take much these days for people to whip up a storm in a teacup, and we're all struggling to get and maintain readers, so everyone just plays nice. I mean, generally almost everyone is actually nice, so it's not like it's an act, but rather, everyone avoids unnecessary confrontation.

I think that we want to help each other be successful, so when someone has a question or needs help, everyone on here does their best to answer those questions or offer links to tutorials or old threads that might be useful. Even though we're all spread out over the world, the forum makes it feel like we're all 'family'. Plus, I'd say the majority of people posting on the forum are creators rather than readers.

Maybe it has something to do with how Tapas is a little more tight-knit than other bigger sites, like Youtube or Webtoons. Everyone here (especially on the forums) just wants to support each other and have conversations with other creators.
I don't actually know how this place hasn't become toxic hearing how it's 3 years old already? I'm just about as surprised as everyone else is about how friendly this community is, and I love posting here!!

Remember though, it may be "nice" here, but it's also pretty much an ideological echo chamber.

It's better here than other places in that I've not seen rampant bullying or blacklisting going on, but I do know of instances where people have engaged in things like tone policing and shaming tactics in order, presumably, to make those they've had disagreements with not feel welcome.

All in all though, even when people have said things that go against the grain here, the response has mostly been to have a discussion about it, which is a very positive thing imo.

Personally, I am surprised too. People are so nice and supportive here. Especially when it comes to new users and creators.

I guess it is some sort of chain reaction. People are nice so that makes you want to be nice. And so people who come next want to be nice and so on.

Its cuz religion and politics dont get spoken of much here unless it is through people's comics... which then can be construed as "its a work of fiction, the author doesnt really believe anything in it" by onlookers.

But then again... the internet is the internet and I've seen my share of people on this forum who behave like an asswipe (wont mention em dont wanna stir up unnecessary shit). Humanity is humanity and its got its fair share of good and bad. Just like the internet cuz at the end of the day, humans are behind the keyboard. lol

Despite rough starts around here i have to commend the community for being really cool around here and having some of the most interesting interactions with readers and people on the forums i've ever had across all the platforms i've ever posted any of my drawings since, and that's been years and years since i started an old drawing blog of mine that i didn't had that kind of involved reactions and people really looking into what i do.

I'm so happy to do my part on other people's creation and subbing to them, tipping the little amount i can gain everyday with the free coins app and whatnot, really really enjoying it much more than being on... the limited community interaction on line webtoon for a fast / easy matter of comparison i must say...
