How long did it take to get around 25+ subscibers?

Since I'm new I don't know how much growth in subscribers I need to expect.
So I have a question how long it took you to get around 25 subscribers?

Hard to say. I started on Smackjeeves and had more readers than subscribers. When I moved over here I kind of already had probably more than 25 readers, though fewer subscribers. I think it took me a month or two of focusing my attention here to break 25

For me, it only took about a week and a bit. I promoted like mad though, both on these forums and on Reddit. (Twitter too, I guess, but my posts about my comic are largely ignored on Twitter.) I'm also a slightly more experienced artist than a lot of first-time webcomic creators, so I had that going for me in terms of getting people invested and excited about things to come.

My advice is to share your comic everywhere you can think of! And I'd avoid the sub-for-sub type threads. You want active and invested readers, not just a high number.

Yeah... I hate sub for sub. Because empty sub will not read your work and if he does its probably just for statistic not because he like my comic/novel.

It might also depends on which genre you choose, and whether you publish a comic or a novel. I'm on the novel side, but I'd say... long. Quite long. Both of my series reached 25 around a month of scheduled updates and being active on the forum, which includes interacting with others and promoting my works in several threads. However, it gets so much easier after that; from getting one new sub on every update to getting new subs even on days I'm not updating.

I find posting in this forum (chatting to other creators and sharing your work) really helps.

I moved over from Smack Jeeves so I pretty much spammed Tapas with new episodes daily for a while and got to 25 quite quickly.

I see you are a writer, so I’m not sure how quick it will be for you to get there - just keep adding new episodes and linking to your Tapas novel on social media etc.

to me, took around 2 months and a half.
If do not have any contacts, it may be hard to get it.
To you get more subs, you have to interact with other artists and readers.
Ok, you can just do a "subs for subs", but it's kinda artificial, since they will not be actual readers.

I'm also a novel writer and I know that more people read comics but my artistic talent isn't good for now
And I try to interact with many people as I can. I'm mainly asking about how long it took to get around 25 subscribers just to know what to expect.

Hi... it took me some time. I promoted my novel here after the first 10 subs. I don't know how my first subscribers found me... It took me about a month.
My novel is this one, btw. You can share yours too so I may check yours. Wish you success. and don't give up! I have been reading very good novels and comics

i'm from the comic side --- It took me a day to reach 25+ --- but to be fair, it just so happened that I released the teaser before Halloween and the first official episode in time of Halloween and my comic has vampires in it so I guess it's the time where people might be into looking for Halloween themed reading list(?) -- also I promoted a Halloween themed teaser on all of my social media handles in something like a countdown ^^

I think it's more of a perfect timing --- I did post it on 3am (lol you know demon/witching hours) on halloween Or what if I unknowingly sold my soul Just kidding but yeah, maybe that's it

Ahh, I see. Yep, yep. I think expecting around a month or two to reach 25 is fair enough; not too high or too low of an expectation. But, well, everyone has their own pace. I hope the best for your series~

I got to 25 subs last week. It took me about 3(?) months.
Post a link to your work in your forum bio. It helps. I try a little over on twitter as well, but I just try to have as much fun as I can and not fuss about the subs that much.

In our case, it took us I think 2 months after we first stared publishing on Tapas to reach 25 subscribe. I think it's really easy to obtain 25 subs so long as you're frequent with your story posting and also engaging with your followers.

It took me 2-3 months. I didn't know anyone here but promoted a little on the forums. My style isn't the most popular, so I think you can grow faster depending on genre ^^

It actually only took 5 days for me. The fact that I had been updating every day did help a lot though.

I lost count. It took me 3-4 months to get 25 subscribers and also 5-6 months to make it to 30. And I update with two pages a week. And that's coming from a debut webcomic last year. How does sound because I think it's not bad for a first-time creator.

Here is my webcomic and I wish you luck to reach 30 subs and beyond in the future.

Well it took me a decently long time to get to 25, started around august and hit that mark at around the end of December. I guess it was around 5 months? Yea, I wasn't too lucky with getting any, but as things are I guess its fine, still at around 28 right now so nothing much has changed
