I work simultaneously on 3 pages every week. I put in about 25 hours a week, so on average it takes a little over 8 hours for me to finish a page.
normally i'd say like eight-ish hours, but this last one has taken six months so, somewhere between those two numbers?
I dont do pages, I do per episode since my comic is in the strip format.
One ep takes at least 3-4 days sitting at the computer while eating, listening to music, browsing around, stretching, etc.
my comic isn't page format, it's vertical scroll and it takes me about two or three weeks, including looking for/making references. My first episode took me two months, but that was mainly because I didn't know what I was doing I have an average of about 20 panels per episode and I think it takes me about 1 hour per panel but it can get more complicated if there is more than one character in that panel, there are backgrounds or I'm doing something experimental.
Im slow (and a irl full time job) i dont work per page but per task so I can finish a chapter(episode) every month. I'm also using strip format but I have calculated one of my strip pages = 2 normal pages (A4) depending of the paneling tho.So it takes me 2 weeks sketching and linearting, 1 week and half coloring and 2 days (or less if Im late) lettering. Im so slooooooooooow
Depending on what's going on, I probably average 5-10 hours for 20-40 panels. It all depends on what I can cut corners on - be it copy-pasting just a sketch or line art and colors. I've stopped caring about the resolution getting a little fuzzy if I copy-paste a background.
Amen, I feel it. Reuse as MANY assets as possible. Especially for Backgrounds, no one really takes a close look anyway.
I have yet to pin down my average page rate since I'm still very new. But NOT coloring and reusing what assets I can:I think right now I'm at about 8-10 hours per page. (not including the writing/ preliminary drafting phase)
No way! That's not to slow, having a IRL job as well. Doing what you can when you can is very admirable. Keep up the hard work <3
