How long have you been drawing comics?

My interest in comics started with Calvin and Hobbes, I was eight (I think...) and that's when I started drawing comics.
They were often very... strange. my characters were slightly altered stick figures with heads that floated a bit (Which is something that stuck with me and made it into Life of a Homeschooler) and it took several tries to explain a joke so people would get it.
Around when I turned 12 I just kinds stopped everything, drawing, comics, everything. I don't know... it was weird.
Then I found Mark Crilleys YouTube channel and I suddenly found myself learning Manga, something I NEVER thought I'd do... And that's what got me back into comics. (also it led to write [Insert Epic Title Here])
and now its 2015 and I haven't stopped...

I've only started seriously making comic pages a year ago, from what I thought would just be a short-lived idea for kicks. But turned out, even with just a mouse and laptop, I can dish out comic pages in reasonable time. And so I created Trash Talk!

And it wasn't long after that when I tried collaborating, but I screwed myself up, as I couldn't focus on 2 comics at once, so I kinda stuck to my own after that. And until now, I'm still mindlessly producing comic pages amidst my busy college schedule.

It's all well in the end. And I hope it'll be much better onwards. :")

I started drawing comics when I was 11. They were all very shitty and 80% it was fanfiction. (≖͞_≖̥) I've got an entire sketchbook full of comics that were given minimal planning. However, it was cute to see how I got better each time.
By the time I was 13, I started switching to digital stuff! There was an improvement in plot quality, but of course the art still needed some work XD Cue about 4 more barely-planned, fanfiction based comics before I started getting serious.
I'm 16 now, so that mean's I've been doing the comic thing on and off for 5 years (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧ I never really thought about it... that's a long time

I've been reading comics since I was old enough to read, but for some reason it didn't really click with me that I could draw comics if I wanted until much, much later. But since I first attempted a comic, it's been about ten years.

... I won't link you to the first one, which was atrocious. Badly drawn, poorly plotted, all that bad stuff.

I'm not sure at all, but I know I was around 15 when I started to draw comics, so yup...^^; Around 9-10 years. It's the same for my manga Dreamcatchers, because that was my first comic I started to draw, and I'm still drawing it! o.O

I did dabble in some pen and ink comic-making about the time I graduated high school but lost interest and subsequently did illustrations and wrote novels for a hobby (well, started them at least, only ever finished one) until 29 when I picked it up again. That was 6 years ago. See kids? Age is but a number, it's never too late to start on something new, lol. Anyhoo, it's far quicker to draw comics and far more fun to interact with the readers online. Without the online community I doubt I'd even have bothered.

My drawing comic adventure started more than two years ago with the beginning of Echo, because I really wanted to make this for a long time.
I was always reluctant since my childhood ("not good enough to draw a comic"), so I wrote a lot of stories and illustrated them. I remembered starting one comic page of a 10 pages oneshot and... never finished it.

Now I don't see my life without drawing a comic, because I really love it !

If you mean like, any kind of comics then since I was 8. So, 17 years. If you mean "for realsies" then since like 2013 so only about a little over a year.

I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon, if I wasn't outside catching frogs and salamanders then I was either drawing or playing Donkey Kong 64 when I was out of paper xD When I was 15 I decided I wanted to draw manga specifically so I studied that for a while along with western comics. I'm finally working on my dream project that is also my first called Soul Ascendance which is currently only 3 pages in at the moment. It's mostly drawn traditionally and colored/toned digitally. I really do enjoy it when people like my artwork and get inspiration from it.
I actually enjoy reading webcomices more than the mainstream ones, I love seeing other creators let their imaginations go wild without having an editor involved.

In 1997 my sister and I drew comics and printed them via photocopier and sold them in our high school.
It was terrible and very heavily influenced by sailor moon. Then i did a 400 page dragonball fan comic that was also terrible! Haha.

First officially published was in "ghost tales" in 2011 because I was working in animation and had stopped regularly making comics.

When I print hello, albertosaurus http://tapastic.com/series/Hello-Alberto it'll be my first stand alone comic (previously I've been only in collections and anthologies). That'll be around this time next year

I used to trace Spiderman comics when I was a kid though. Does that count?

The first comic I remember drawing was in 4th or 5th grade and it was a 3-paged thing about the Grim Reaper and his talking Scythe. (Aha)
It wasn't until 7th grade that I started drawing a lot more comics... or trying to anyway

I started online comics in September 2014.
However, my first attempt at comics in general was...er, maybe May 2009? I can't remember.

Aside from the little doodled stories and strips from when I was a kid, my first attempt at a comic was around three years ago. I posted 4 pages online and gave up.

Then the year after that I managed to script and thumbnail a full short story, but only finished up to page 3 or 4 as well.

This is technically my third-fourth attempt at a webcomic, and the first one to get past 4 pages. :B lol

If we're talking about published successful (online) stuff (and I mean successful as in I didn't lose interest or re-start it from the beginning cause I was unhappy with the results) then I guess since 2011.

If we're talking about attempting to draw comics in general then I have no clue, my mom tries to save as much of my drawings and stuff as she can, and because of that I keep finding comics/stories I don't even remember making from as far back to when I was still in the first or second grade.
