How many chapters do you plan on making?

I'm currently working on a series called SUBCONSCIOUS (well, im rebooting a series called [Insert Epic Here]* that has three short volumes each is about 7-10 chapters at about 20-40 pages each, except the middle volume which is one big chapter.

*I made that up on the spot when I made the series... along with everything else, which is the main reason I'm rebooting it...

Dreamcatchers gonna be 27 chapters, and Furusato House is 32 chapter long. For me they're long enough for spend a half of my life with drawing them X.X But I could never give up.

In all seriousness though, Time Gate is gonna be approaching Eiichiro Oda levels of long (One Piece). It's 10 "books" long (which means 10 separate stories all a part of a timeline) that spans over quite a long period of time in their world so it can be called a "saga" (although I prefer series, potato tomato) and within each book there is going to be a currently undetermined amount of volumes, each volume consisting of 9 chapters (save for opening volumes for each book, which consist of 7-8).

We are currently on Book One, Time Gate: Reaper, and are coming up to the end of volume 1, and I have up to Volume 3 scripted out, with still plenty of left in the story to get through.

Yeeeep. God forbid if Tapastic ever puts an episode limit. I wonder what would happen if a story ever hit 999 episodes? Guess we're gonna find out.

the great thing with comics is that they can go on forever. id say plot out your story arc, and see how many chapters you wanan fit it into - beginning, middle, end? starting before you know whats gonna happen may result in awkwardly shaped chapters.

Kri has about 15 chapters planned. Already written a short summary of events for each one, and work on outlines shortly before a chapter starts.

Considering the magick theme of Comics on VHS, I'd like to do 3 story arcs with about 333 pages each. But that is an ideal. It will be as long as it needs to be.

If I ever made that Super Sentai comic, I'd probably make that one complete story in like...500 pages?

10 at the very minimum, but I'd say roughly 15-20, with the chapter lengths varying from as high as 30 to as brief as 5 pages.

depends on whether or not i plan to meld some of those chapters together. :B

I planned on a overall story of 120 pages, Just to match graphic novels I've seen out there.
I did want to have a clear end goal in order to motivate myself.
From that I split it in 12 chapters of 10 pages.
Might be a little more pages in the end (I draw 11 pages per chapter now) but at least that got me started...

This is a first comic for me too. I don't have an official number of chapters but I have 10 main events which are usually covered in let's say 3 chapters minimum, so 30 chapters?

I do have another project which I've been working on much longer in terms of story but because of that, the story is friggen loooong and for a first comic I felt that was a bit ambitious for me lol

How do you all plan the number of pages? I have infinite adventures for each one in my mind!

16 and an epilogue. I've got the whole story planned out so it shouldn't take any more or any less. I'm nearly done with chapter 3 and only a month and a year into the comic. Then I can move on to the story that takes place chronologically before my comic. I've got a big world to set up!

Frankly, I don't know, I don't like to put like a number for it, I know how things will end, I know how the end will be, but I don't know when exactly (this sounds like prophetic xD)
Because if I put a number, later I might end up not having enough to put all the situations and I might put everything quick, and I prefer to it to the story to tell me when to end (if you understand me)
For exmaple, I had in mind to put certain events for chapter 2, but they ended up for chapter 4.
But, like dreaming, I would like to reach 50 chapters

With Soul Ascendance probably around 84 chapters for the first season and as for the second season around 70 so probably 154 chapters in all ._. making this series is going to f***g kill me holy st...
