Nah, “Ever” would be unfathomable I draw August A LOT. For no reason. I just love drawing him.

Dude I tried to be the creator doing all the practice sketches and stuff, but I got impatient and started a bit before I was ready. To be fair, when are we ever ready?

It depends on your goal.

There are styles that are not possible to achieve without training & theory

The good thing is that everyone has their own goals and has to judge that for themselves
+ there are some things which you can get better at by trial and error

I feel ya. I had some artistic training long before I started drawing, but I was new to drawing on a tablet(slippery and small size, and was using Ibis/Medibang), so I just bulldozed through my first few episodes. (my first ep took around 16 hours to finish, 8 hours of coloring). I actually was doing it just for me, no intention of publishing until about a few years later, just to see what would happen. My practice now is to just let the comic be the practice, and it's apparent when I hadn't drawn in a while, which is fine. It's my first comic, but it also feels like a personal art timeline/journal. It grows/improves with me, and that's worth starting, even if you don't feel like you're ready.

Minor: Evan's bandmates/buds (Ben, Fiddy, Andre), Neon Moriarty (baby brother), Doland Moriarty (dad)
Some pro-wrestler character appearances on background props but left it a mystery if they actually show up XD
Super minor: The two officers who got infected, about 5 civilians who got infected

Lots of characters eventually show up as series evolves into a battle royale, and various animals like seals, deer, bats etc that also get infected.

Not a lot—well, none, since it's not up yet. But I did draw the major characters from all three arcs as chibis the other day.

Summary

13 excluding the antagonists and tertiary characters, which'll bring the count up to 28.

I have never sat down and counted before...

Just counting named characters who have shown up in posted chapters, it appears there are 36 (I'm sure I'm forgetting some):

Iyu, Sanya, Aksana, Semchik, Dasha, Vasilij, Filipp, Artyom, Reskov, Rakhta, Pavel, Antosha, Irisha, Fedya, Nadya, Misha, Stiva, Grisha, Natalya, Mariya, Yelena, Lyubov, Ivan, Chabas, Vladimir, Sofya, Nikolaj, Alyoshka, Oleg, Andrej, Olya, Liza, Agafya, Nestor, Afanasij, Grigorij.

As for important characters, I'd say there are about 9. Which sounds like a lot. But as for real main characters, there's really just one. Which sounds like not enough!

That’s ten total. This isn’t counting pets, or background characters who don’t factor into the plot, although there are a lot of both, hahah.
