I've had a novel going since December, and it's at 244k words at this point and the only comment on the entire thing is my own warning there's a sex scene next chapter and that you can skip over it if you want.

I'm not planning on stopping any time soon, but it's really disparaging to not get any kind of feedback at all. Maybe I'm just doing a horrible job at promoting it, maybe it's just bad and no one wants to read it, but if it's the former, I at least want to be told that so I know what to fix.

I guess I just want to know how many subscribers people have gotten before they start expecting feedback every now and then so that I know what to expect.

well, a good start would be putting a link to your story in your bio since a lot of promotion comes from the forums. if people click your profile but don't see a link to your comic/novel it's gonna be hard to promote and get out there.
you could even link it in his thread if you want feedback on it.

I read the first episode, you have a lot of redundancies, especially in the first half.
And I think the cover should be brighter cause right now you can only see her arms.
banners also really help, I only recently made one and it helped my story a lot.

But, when you're making web novels especially keep in mind people will 100% judge by the cover so you have to make it stand out.

I'd recommend starting a thread in the reviews forum if you want better or different feedback than mine. here're people who know more about this than me I'm just telling you what I know.
Good luck!

Yeah, I've been planning on redoing the cover for a while now, and I know I've needed to make a better thumbnail, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'll add drawing a banner to my to do list as well.

As for redundancies in my first chapter, what have I done wrong? I know that's the most important chapter for drawing in new readers, so I really want to know what I could be doing better.

You just need a decent amount; it helps as well if you have anything in the author's comment that encourages interactions.
