How much would you pay for a xerox 8 page comic?

It says it all in the title. I'm going to be making a small print run of my comic for a comic con I'm planning on going. Now I want it to be a taster with links back to the comic. I dont want them to be too expensive since its mainly about getting new readers

I certainly wouldn't take my own word for law, but personally I would pay $5-10 (I assume we're speaking Americano) for a small teaser, depending on how intrigued I am by the art and the seller.

For a Xerox mini comic, they're pretty much considered flyers/handouts here in the states. They only cost about .10 a mini comic to make. Some convention artists step up their mini comic game and use a heavier paper stock or even screenprint the covers. We personally give them out for free but I've seen mini comics for sale anywhere from .25 centres to a dollar. Full color high quality issues sell for around 4-5 dollars here, so we would sell a cheap mini for more than 25-50 cents. However, these sales and prices vary from region to region.

What size is the comic going to be printed at? If it's zine/booklet sized (5.5" x 8") with 8 full color pages, three bucks ought to be fair as an indie creator. Honestly if your Silversong pages are the ones getting printed, I'd personally have no problem shelling out five dollars for that mini comic.

I printed the first episode of my comic here with those exact specifications and plan on charging 3 at a convention I'll be at this Saturday.

With your art style I would definitely recommend you print in full color. You use too many nice colors for them to be washed away in the printing process.

Yeah I wanna do colour is impossible, I dont think it'll translate well to black and white. Gonna ask around for prices at the printers and see if can get a good deal to sell it on for a good price

I've used bestvaluecopy.com for print comics for about a year now and have been nothing but happy with them. Before them I printed with ka-blam and wasn't too happy with them.

Here in Japan I usually see those for sale at the equivalent of $1-$3, but many artists give them away or sell them for just the dollar because they are more interested in getting their stuff read than making money off of it.

Personally... unless the art was amazing I wouldn't pay for a xerox copy comic. They are hard to keep track of and tear easily, so for me it's not worth my money. Maybe if it was super rare art from a famous series or artist, but I don't really buy those at cons or comic events. For my own work, if I want to hand out a flier it comes from my own dime.

It really depends on whether it's black/white or color and how much it'll cost you to print.
Earning at least ~1-2EUR/USD per copy [so if it costs .50EUR/USD to print, you can sell it for 1.5-2.5EUR/USD] is reasonable, imo.
Though, like what Ogawaburukku said, most people don't really buy Xeroxes comics. I know in Japan it's called copybon and it's usually for cheap doujinshi. But like I said it's cheap, both in price and quality. I would recommend getting your comic bound together with some of your drawings to make an artbook with your art instead of just selling xeroxes of your comic.

This is what I'm printing.
The MAIN objective is to get readers, online and reading the comics. Rather than the selling a comic. I'm hoping its a enough to pique people interest to read it

Only 2 A4's to make a cover and 6 pages. Low cost to make but needs to be colour to get the pow effect of the colour.

Yeah, I'd totally pony up two or three bucks for this. You may also consider doing a deal bundle. If they buy this, they get a free print or something.
