How often do you check views?

I've been posting since November. To begin with I would check daily to see if I got any views. Lately I've been having less views which makes me question what I'm writing.
I write firstly for my own enjoyment but had decided that it might be good publishing as I go because I often give up after a few chapters.
Now I've decided to check in once a week when I publish to see how it's going.

So how often do you check views? And how do you handle your emotions if it isn't as much as you hoped?

I check views every other day or so. Something like that. I'm not overhyped about it.

And honestly I'm surprised with the number of views ADB is getting. Performing above expectations which are low.

I'd do a totally different webtoon if I was purely aiming for popularity.

I check daily, often multiple times daily, and have since I started posting. I have a mental threshold for a "good" day on views, though I would not advise doing that, the way I would not advise sitting at your desk with an open box of donuts within arm's reach. I just always keep the tab open.

Fortunately my comic has performed much better than I expected, even if I have a "bad" day I compare it to the 0 view days back a couple years ago. Back then, a dozen views would have been a very good day.

Never. It's the internet, it's safe to assume views is not a reliable metric because of bots. I do try to check often for comments, though.

rarely if ever even on social media posts and even when i started i wasnt really attentive to metrics other than likes or comments when i got them

nowadays i sometimes forget about having posted so whenever i do login to see spikes in engagement im often surprised because my expectations are at zero more often than not so anything more than that becomes exciting and fun. it might seem silly or selling myself short but i think i prefer the idea of getting hyped for anything than feel bad if i get nothing but it could very well just be a consequence of having been at it so long and then finally jumping back into things recently after a long break.

its super duper easy to get caught up in and worry about numbers so i think thats why i prefer to put my focus and energy into just producing the best work i can instead of agonizing over something i know i dont have control over and so far its worked

I basically never check lol. They've been pretty consistent for a while and I'm going to keep making this comic for as long as i have eyes and hands or until it's finished, whichever is shorter. XD

I used to check almost every day back when I was posting weekly for a year. That changed once I started posting monthly or whenever I finish a chapter. Of course, at this point the views and subscribers don't really matter as much to me since I just want to finish the story. That's really my only goal here.

I'm happy when I see that there are some readers, but if not, then it is what it is. Also, I know after 1,5-2 weeks after the last update, readers numbers drop to zero, it's ok.

i check views whenever i post a chapter because its just something inevitable lmao bcuz the metrics is just there when you're uploading a chapter so I can't help it even if I don't care.

However, I do check the views whenever I get a subscriber so it's not that often.

I don't rely on the views for now because I'm still in the beginning phase so worrying about the numbers will lead me to nowhere (but i appreciate everyone's that's subscribed though, because it keeps me going!)

Once a day I check views and notifications. Used to check it more, for the rush of seeing numbers, but often I didn't, and it was sad to do anyway.

I used to check multiple times daily when I started in June 2025, but now maybe every other day? I try to check for views regularly, but I've found the views for your first page/episode are a bit meaningless.I do keep an eye out for likes and subscribers. I'd check for comments but I've only gotten one legitimate one this whole time.

I don't have the time to promote myself, and this site seems to be promote yourself or get nothing. I would recommend advertising on other social media (X, bluesky, instagram, Facebook, etc) and link them to here

I don't look at views and likes often just to maintain my mental health. But when I get a rare comment, I'll gladly respond.

I check frequently out of idle habit, but I don't give it that much thought, lol. Views don't mean a lot to me because it's probably just bots a lot of the time. Always happy to see likes and comments, though!

I have read through peoples comments and there seems to be quite a lot of variety between how often people check.
I do write for myself first but deep down I guess I'm looking for validation.

I'll just carry on and see what happens. I will probably reduce how often I check on my views.

Also some people mentioned bots, which was something I wasn't even considering.

I've also noticed that first episode views only translate to about 10% reading on. I guess people check it out to see if it's something they would like and that's what the big drop off.

Once a week when I’m uploading. I only really check the monthly figure, as daily figures are very variable, and really only tell me when a new reader is trawling through the back catalogue.

Usually the day after an update so can sed how well it performed.

I mostly check it every two days or so. I'm trying not to make it into a habit to check it super often. T_T
Also, yeah sometimes I don't get many interactions with my work, but I know my work is new, so I'm just trying to be kind to myself and not beat myself over low numbers.

This seems like a good idea. I've also noticed that the daily view vary quite a bit and it seems to spike if someone discovers what I've written and reads through.
