I'm curious to see if there's a correlation between character ages and genre!
Also, how old are you? (if you don't mind answering)
Because it seems to me, the older I get, the older I make my characters.

I'm 25 and here's my list
Demon House (slice-of-life, supernatural): Tula and her friends are 21. The other humans range from 25 to 31.
Heavy Horns (romance): Andreas is 26, Beau 27, Dusy 25, and Alex is 29 going on 30.
Erie Waters (drama, supernatural): Ian is 26, Sebastian (at time of death) 25, Nelly (in dog years at time of death) 23, Jenny 423.

Most of my characters are ambiguously young adults and older teenagers. It's just more comfortable writing the stuff I know.

looking only about what the story tell... around 287 days lol.

My main characters: Mappy, Nico, Keon, and Kimi are all 13 years old. I'm already 32, but at the time of writing the story, I was 26.

My characters tend to be adults, really. Maybe it's because I've read so many books and played so many games in which the main characters were all teenagers - I just got tired of it. I've got a couple of teenaged characters kicking around in my various ideas, but most of the main players tend to be adults - and it's been that way pretty much since I started making stories. At age 7.

... I was a weird kid.

I'm 27, and here's my list (which is not exact; I haven't set anything in stone):

Grassblades1 (action-adventure/fantasy): Masahiro is somewhere between 32-36 (I haven't decided), Akane is probably less than 6. Chouko is 29-30, Dateh is 35, Kazue is 23-ish, Lady Watanabe is approaching 70, her attendant Ying is in her late 20s, and our favourite hapless bandits Ichi, Ni and San are 30, 27 and 25, respectively.

Wishlight1 (fairytale/fantasy): The main character is about 15, her mother is in her late 30s/early 40s, and the other principal character is ageless, but looks about 35-ish?

Yeah, I think some artists create characters with an age near your age. It looks to be more comfortable to build the characters personality, because we are simply living in this life period.

I have 18 years old now.

"Team Trouble" it's about me and my friends, so it doesn't count.

The concept and the characters from "The Sky Travelers1" I created when I was 17. They are:

Hiraku Saitou - 18yo
Kotone Minami - 17yo
Hiroshi Tanaka - 17yo
Ryoko Aikawa - 17yo

Wow, very accurate, lol

I don't have many characters yet, but they are all teens/early teens, expect for the main character's mom, she is in her late 30's. Age is kinda important in my story.

I'm 23, I was 19 when I started developing my webcomic.

Hmm... Echo's 17, she'll turn 18 in the third book. Hrodland's 22, he'll turn 23 soon.
Characters ages go from 12 to +70. And because I was curious, I did some statitics one day. The average age is 30 years old, while if you don't count the old bags, the average age is 26 years old.
I'm not even 26.

All my characters are based on their real persona. However they slighty different in age. Silerna's 25 years old, while the real Silerna (me) is younger. All ages lie between 20 and 28 years old.

Hey, it's the truth. Some of them are old and cynic witches. stuck_out_tongue
Like that nice Oldbag from Ace Attorney : D

I love stories about school, however old I get.... I like the experience and strong feelings that young people have even not in school. So my main characters are always teenagers or at least in their twenties. The good part is that as I get older, my understanding of the behaviour of the adults and the teenagers get better so the story becomes more deep and realistic. smile

I'm 25 (started the comic when I was 22) and the main characters in my comic Creep1 are Riley (17), Alex (18), and Sam (16). The supporting cast ranges from 17 to Twenty-Something... and there are a few parents who are obviously older.

I'm 18! The main cast for Kongene Faller (at least human wise) range from 15 - 65. However the two ''main'' characters who are 32 and 37 don't quite look their age :-p, though the 37 year old has an excuse for not looking his age. Only the 65 year old character looks his age but even then, I could always push it more in his design.

My next planned story, In Memoriam, the only human character is 23...then the rest of the cast are Angels so they're going to be ridiculously old (but not look it).

I'm 22 but I started developing Fallacy when I was about 20.

My main 4: Nidi - 21, Thjalfi - 20, Astrid 27, Hildr - 24.

Rest of the characters are 27 - 56, most near or in their thirties. Oh, I do have one character who is 13. There is also one undecided character who might end up being very old but I haven't really thought about her too much yet as I won't need her for years. :'D

Runewriters (fantasy (/action/comeddddyyyy???))
Protagonists: Tareth is 17 and Severian is 20. Jonan is 29 (though he looks much older) and Xira is 15. There's another character who'll be introduced soon that's 11.
Antagonists: Quentin Agorath is 23 (he'd look it if he got some sleep), Esra is 30, and Iavin is 44.

I'm gonna be 29 in December (HAPPY BDAY TO ME) but I was around 19-20 when I first started developing these guys!

I'm 23. As for my characters:
Kestrel is about 17, Jerzy is turning 20 in about a month, Karamanczi ~32, Young something about 40, Thomas ~25, Ellie~21, Rikka is about 14-15 and Max is 14.
