How old are your main characters?

My main characters ages are more rough more than anything else.

Jaime's about 17 years old, if I had to hazard.

Jade's the same I'd say!
There's gonna be some characters reaching older than that down the line, but they're not relevant now.

That's an interesting observation but definitely true
I guess my main characters are a bit of an exception from that rule (Gezzo = 75, Simon=26-28, Myo=12-14, Peedee=10) well ... at least half of them is an exception
But Peedee and Myo can't really be considered children since they both belong to alien races for whom aging works differently than for humans (Peedee's kind doesn't get older than 20)
and most of the upcoming side characters will be 40+ or dead (I know that is not an age but also an underrepresented group in my opinion )

I think most creators try to either identify themselves with their characters (what makes writing them easier) or want their audience to identify with the characters (what makes the character more approachable for the reader) and that's why there is this tendency towards the age group of 14-35 in most stories. But as long as their age makes sense in the story there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

The god, whose name has not yet been mentioned (the one in black/white armour), is the man responsible for life on the planet he rules over. He is approximately 13 Billion years old. Through traveling in time he reversed time far enough to see the birth of the universe and curated life on a far-away planet.

The other god called Achnex is about the same age and curated the life of the man mentioned above. He is responsible for the source of one half of the magic which is drawn from hate and anger.
These gods are usually called "The Gods of Old" by the habitats of the planet.

Kind of spoiler ahead for the upcoming part of my comic:

The upcoming heroine "Kir'aara" from the comic is approximately 20 years old, and the man accompanying her throughout her journey is approximately 130 years old. This man was curesd with immortality and the constant availablility to riches he had sought before being trapped until the heroine came to free him.

My characters usually range from 13-25. I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and draw more elderly people and little kids. I'm glad I do, because I find it really fun to draw toddlers!

Dakota, the main-main character is 18. I’d guess Katalin is like... 22 and Maka would be 21-ish. But they’re the youngest end of the spectrum - save for Cyra who is around 12. Meanwhile you have characters like Loreh, who is in her 40’s, or Luriel, who is over 800 years old. Or Selene, in her mid-500’s and Audette who’s like... idk. Almost 400? Elrai is mid-60s, Tiffany late 50s, Jingyi is thinking I’ll say mid-20s

I don’t know the exact ages of any of them except. Dakota and roughly Luriel. The only important thing about Luriel”s age is that it’s over 800

I guess my characters fit the whole main character between 14 - 35 thing Dexter is 23 at the start of The Small Town Horror.

Blood & Cupcakes has three main characters, two vampires, Kip aged 972 (though he is pretending to be far younger) and Viktor aged 368‬. A human mage named Maira who is 15-17 during the course of the novel.

The main characters in NCC are all around the same age, in the eighth grade.

I didn't have any particular ages in mind for the girls in "Words.", only that Nadine is certainly the youngest and Wendy and Molly are the most mature.

I actually have an entire spreadsheet of sums for working out my character's ages (and birthdays) in our terms because I had to be a smartass and create an entire calendar system. So in human terms my main main characters are:

Eric and Isaak - 24
Louis - 26
Percy - 27
Ari - 31

For current comic my characters fall into the teenage age range, because the whole story has an innocence loss theme which works best if your characters are fairly young. So the main characters are 19 and 15 respectively.

I do plan a second comic after The Machinist with my characters being in their 30ies, probably 34 and 39 for the main couple with the third character having no real concept of age as they just got knocked down from being immortal to a mortal being.

My protagonist is 67 though since he’s a vampire he is actually 38. The other protagonist is 41.

Lynx is 15.
Tyler is 13.
Brandon is 14.
Megan is 14, but has not aged since she became a Spirit, so she could be very old.
And Rylee is a Vampire, so her Age could be very old too.
